You should be pleased that your mates @Bronco, @trevor and @Park bantam will be enjoying live footie sitting in their usual seats at VP while you're sitting on the sofa at home watching it on iFollow with a Radio Leeds commentary. Bliss! -

Even in the very unlikely event we are in Tier 2, I wouldn’t be interested in attending. Not just because the football is abysmal and the weather is crap, but because the whole Matchday experience for me involves a few beers before and after, and, given that T2 only allows for a drink with a meal, I’d rather save my money for when we can do things properly - hopefully from the 21/22 season commencing come August. (With a much better squad!)

22 new cases in Yorkshire hospitals on Tuesday. The daily peak was estimated at 57,000 for the Yorkshire and the Northeast region on March 23rd so the virus is as good as gone (although we weren't really measuring back then so it's a guess.) Why are pubs shut and my kids can't play on a see-saw? Death rates have yet to exceed bad flu years within living memory. Did you know excess winter deaths averaged just over 40k in the 1970s and over 60k in the 1950s? The UK's population was a bit lower then, too. It's only in the last couple of decades we've got excess deaths down to 30k per year so a spike rather higher is not that big a deal. It still hit 50.1k in 2017/18. SARS-CoV-2 is bad but we can now see it's not as bad as feared and not much worse than many in the past. We're now seeing that we've probably done more damage to health shutting the economy down than keeping it open.

After over 50 years on the terraces and last years unmitigated disaster a lot like myself won't be renewing I missed quite a few games last season following performances like Carlisle away on Boxing Day and Morecambe home on New Year's Day and didn't regret it so why torment myself with the possibly of a paid seat
Some games we got as far as the pub then nobody wanted to leave and brave the embarrassment anyone thinking that 8k will not be enough should think again
Covid will be quoted as a reason for the drop (again) in ticket sales but how much longer can the club make excuses for the complete lack of drive and ambition coming from the top
Signings of the ilk of Billy Clarke and the uncertainty on Vaughan ain't going to put bums on seats that's for sureJayteebee, Fordy117, Tony Wilkinson and 1 other person like this. -

I think I'm right in thinking tomorrow would have been the first day of the season until this wretched Covid hit us?
To be honest, I cannot remember when I have looked forward to a new season as little as I feel at the moment.
It's probably down to knowing we cannot attend when we do get under way next month. But the lack of transfer rumours and activity, no sign of fixture list, no scheduled friendlies means I have no appetite yet for a season that kicks off in 5 weeks.Tony Wilkinson, Stafford Bantam, Bronco and 1 other person like this. -

Based on this Bradford is down to 17th but not for dropping rates, for others shooting up.
Liverpool looks look it will be hit with a more restrictions, others could possibly given the Bolton treatment, not that it's done any good as what smash through 200.
If I can go to work. I can go to the pub and my daughter can go to school, then it should be our choice if we want to go to the football with a few thousand of us rattling round in a 25k seater stadium. How, bantam2708, Storck and 1 other person like this. -
I'll be leaving this to the legions of statisticians, epidemiologists, infection control specialists, virologists, behavioural scientists etc based at the labs and unis around the country who are charged with this responsibility and not somebody with no apparent credentials on Twitter. Fancy foecasts based on a very questionable and fundamental assumption doesn't do the business for me.Allotment Bantam, JonButterfield, Aaron Baker and 1 other person like this. -

Anyone with half a clue would have known this second wave was coming, and therefore it shouldn’t be a surprise that fans won’t be allowed in stadiums in October, nor at all this season I regret to inform for the umpteenth time.
The worrying part is that the second wave is happening before temperatures have significantly dropped, which is when the major outbreak will be once general cold and flu is in circulation.
Anybody with hopes of attending a game pre-2021, forget it.Bantam@{Lancs}, JudgeMental, Jayteebee and 1 other person like this. -
Maybe this is fundamentally why we've done such a limited job of strengthening. Limit cost, keep the squad to a an assumed standard that means we don't go down, and then replan when Covid is under more control.
