I see Carlisle are going part time until October at least. It will be difficult attracting players there at the moment you would think?

Roll on 2021-2022 season when hopefully a degree of normality has resumed

 

Think it boils down to what what are we looking to achieve with this virus because we are not learning to live with it.

Going to ruin businesses if we continue like this.

 

I think the businesses being ruined ship has sailed Fordy. Wait until October and if furlough ends it will be awful.

 

I tried to tell someone on here that Furlough is a mistake in the way it was outline but that person must have ate too much E numbers as a kid because he can't think straight and still acts like kid in a sweet shop.

The numbers of unemployment is scary.

 

these local lockdowns will do nothing for confidence of the businesses to bring employers back off of furlough.

 

I just don't get what we are trying to achieve though. If say for example every games into the office then at least we can start tracking down those spreading it. Close the office and employee goes into lockdown. I just don't think everyone staying at home is helping.

15k people went for 1 job. 15k. Seriously and those in work could still be in danger because many businesses are on edge of going under.

All test events have been cancelled. They managed one day at the snooker but everything else is no on hold for at least two weeks

 

Denmark games continue with crowds of up to 7k+. New cases there are nudging up slowly though, much like the rest of Europe.

I still think it's more down to tourism and migration than inherent spread amongst local UK and Western European residents. Spain and France have seen outbreaks in tourist spots but not really in the urban and industrial areas that got hit hard in the spring. The virus is VERY active in Eastern Europe at the moment yet some Eastern Europeans are coming back to work in wealthier EU states as their leisure and service industries open up again. I think they are bringing it with them. If I'm right, our hot spots will calm down in a month or two. Romania looks to be peaking now and Poland looks likely to peak later this month. (Cases are now falling in the Indian subcontinent from recent highs so I'm hoping hot spots in locked-down areas across the M62 corridor will ease into autumn.)

 

As before. I'd love to see some proper info on this.

Lots of places are increasing, not just in tourist hotspots (unless Aberdeen has become more attractive since I was last there), Of course the movement of people makes things harder but it is also spreading around the resident population as well.

 

Most people think the virus will come back into its own from Autumn onwards and from a fairly high base. We need to be worried

The first 15 minutes of News Night were very interesting the two medics speaking very positively about the virus and how hospitals are getting back to normality admitting more non-covid patients.
I have been in for a barium cat scan and back again for an Endoscopy something I didnt think I would be doing for a long time.

I think I'm right in thinking tomorrow would have been the first day of the season until this wretched Covid hit us?

To be honest, I cannot remember when I have looked forward to a new season as little as I feel at the moment.

It's probably down to knowing we cannot attend when we do get under way next month. But the lack of transfer rumours and activity, no sign of fixture list, no scheduled friendlies means I have no appetite yet for a season that kicks off in 5 weeks.
