We played well first half. Hit post. Didn’t take our chances. Keeper made a few decent saves. . Paudie and the greatest ever left back according to some were poor. Wood especially. Like it was too easy and we made some dopey decisions in the second half at the back allowing them into the game. No strikers on the bench an issue. Doyle might actually thrive in a side playing like we did in the first half. Screaming sack the manager and asking for polls isn’t going to help anyone. God we’re fickle.

 

Is that what he's doing? Looks to me like hes making the hardest possible job of a terrible league with probably the biggest wage bill in the division, playing god awful, negative football with baffling tactics and team selections whilst loaning the most prolific striker in the country to a rival.

 

I am beginning to think exactly the same. Really depressed, not because we lost but the way we lost. I think something is fundamentally wrong.

 

We've won at least 15 points this season purely down to own goals, deflected efforts and penalties. Bowyer has absolutely fluked it into this position, otherwise we'd be sat mid table with a shed load of 0-0s.

 

My biggest concern - of which there are many - is I have no clue as to how we are trying to play. Bowyer changes the line up every bleeding week.

What is our style? We don't play neat football. We don't play direct, fast football using the wings. Christ, we don't even play long ball to a target man (McArdle to Hanson hoof ©). It's aimless. It's passive. It's bollockless. It's safe. It's boring. I could go on. When will this team have a right good go at another team? I don't think they will.

I've had a season ticket since I was 6 in 96/97 but living an hours drive away and having a wife six months pregnant it is becoming harder and harder to justify the every other week trip back to VP. I think Bowyer has lost me.

 

The fans have turned within VP. Patience has been lost. And it's not the general fickle element you get with all crowds. The last 3 or 4 home games, you've felt it. As soon as basic passes go astray, or players turn backwards because of a basic lack of movement and understanding on how we should be moving the ball from back to front, the groans and moans start, but theres a venom to it. And I sense its aimed entirely at Bowyer, not the players, because everyone can see that they're not being coached and/or the instructions are inhibiting any sort of flow to our game.

 

The only thing we've got to dust down Gary is your desk after you fk off.

 

This is his second so he's got until the 31/01 to have this magical squad he's going to put together. Think that acceptance disappears when us fans are going home and away spending fortunes to go watch his sides and he gives us that turgid stuff for our reward. I went to Macclesfield, Orient and Carlisle was it in the space of 3 week? It was unforgivable what he gave us. He's made a rod for his own back. I'm sure if he actually sent us out on the pitch for 3 points the fans wouldn't be on his back. He's caused this lack of patience which the fans were willing to give him at the start of the season. He's took the piss out of the fans so he gets no sympathy from me. If he gives us something back I'm sure the fans would be right behind him including myself. He has to earn the respect of the fans but he's making blunder after blunder at the moment. His interviews this week have been embarrassing.

 

Sorry but anyone who thinks Neil Warnock is coming to VP Towers is delusional

 

Reckon Ive been one of the more patient fans (as I don’t watch many away games, where the deep problems have been, probably!) but after watching that shite today count me in the Bowyer out camp now.

To not even muster a shot on goal against that lot today is a disgrace. The sight of the CBs arguing when the third went in said it all, and how Taylor gets a game in this team is just baffling.

On the back of that dross midweek at Colchester, too, enough is enough. The momentum we had has ground to a halt and we look lost, especially away.

He’s lost the fans, seemingly now the players and if we leave it any longer to pull the trigger, we’ll lose ground on the top three.

Thanks for stopping the rot up to Xmas, Gary, but on your way now please. We need more attacking intent, passion and ambition from our BCAFC manager.

Any team with Doyle, Vaughan and Donaldson in the ranks cannot accept anything less than a top three finish and this crap we serve up away will not see us overhaul Swindon, Plymouth and Exeter by May.

 

No issue with playing out from the back, it's what I want to see. The issue I have is what that clip shows - defenders pass between themselves, going nowhere and then just hoof it upfield because they haven't been coached on how to play through the thirds.

 

I remember that clip yesterday, said to my lad while they were doing it, whats the point of this when the end product is a hoof to Doyle. It was like groundhog day from last season. It also completely exposed Bowyers limitations as a manager, his instruction and set up failed everyone. Imagine how demoralised your players are when your only option is a log hoof to the country's top scorer, who ironically, isn't a target man. And try playing out of defence when your best midfielder is on the bench. I'll be honest as it stands i'm done with it, its not enjoyable and the club doesn't seem to want to go anywhere.

 

Everybody. Results aside, every home game has been like pulling teeth. It is not enjoyable even if we win.

 

It's a shame, really, as I do think Bowyer has turned a dreadful squad into a reasonable one, and he did a lot of good work winning fans over in the Summer when morale was at rock bottom.

However, despite Bowyer's good points, the football on offer is abysmal, negative, and hard to stomach - and that just can't be.

 

No you didnt. You said fans who only watch home matches have nothing to moan about. I must have missed the abundance of free flowing attacking football and chances created at home.

 

Just been reading Bowyer pre match press conference. The guy is clearly deluded and has lost all sense of reality.

 

We were shit long before Doyle came back.

 

Don't be daft. No one dislikes Bowyer more than me but the boys played their hearts out tonight.
