This is what bothers me. Mansfield at home was bad but Morecambe really was a massive alarm bell, unsurprisingly most missed it. Morecambe a team of losers earning pennies, had a discernible style of play and could carry it out, even on our cabbage pitch. Their 19 was MOTM by a mile yet we could barely control the ball, never mind string a move together.

I don't buy this "He doesn't know what he's doing" shit, he's an experienced manager, in a rush, who has a load of shit players to try & get a tune out of, good luck with that.

I am OK with a change, sometimes events take control & it may be for the best. But what have we had suggested so far?

I voted no. I did n’t go to Mansfield but I witnessed the Crawley no show. There could be no complaints if he was axed now. Ideally JR is looking at options but I find that hard to believe. This trend is similar to last season’s slide but I think we have a stronger defence and attack this time plus this is L2. The right change should make a difference this time. It’s all eyes on Tuesday now. No improvement then it has to be Bowyer out.

There's been over a 100 comments on the T&A article from Saturday's game, the vast majority wanting Bowyer's head. It's usual for far more critical comments after a heavy loss coupled with a very poor performance, but I reckon the last time it's felt this toxic towards the manager was in the depths of Collins' reign.

I think this is now something far more than a vocal minority venting their disapproval. It's a risk whatever the board decides to do and I think Rhodes is pretty risk averse at the best of times. Let the season peter out, attendances fall, ST renewals dwindle. Sack the manager with no obvious replacement, a protracted hunt for a new boss with Drury in as a caretaker, is not going to fill the ST holders with much optimism for next season either. Especially if Bowyer's replacement isn't particularly highly regarded by the majority. It's certainly a dilemma, but that's what being the head of a football club ultimately entails.

Building on that there are now around 40 replies to the Width of a Post Article, ‘the Last Hurrah’. https://widthofapost.com/2020/01/25/the-last-hurrah/ Again the mood reflects the total dissatisfaction with the current management with a significant number suggesting their needs to be a change. The group l go with who do not post on here, or the T&A all feel totally let down by the dull, defensive play which lacks entertainment and is now failing to get results. Not sure wether the OP has just put their head in the sand. The mood is as grim as I have known it towards a manager, despite us being seventh.

But even on this "noisy" forum, 40% have not voted for Bowyers removal!

Its a conundrum, desperate & worsening results v shit league & position.

It may well be that some have not been on here recently and/or are not aware that you can change your vote. There are others who are staunchly in favour of preserving the status quo.

I must admit although l am deeply unhappy, I want to have some idea as to who we would get in as a replacement. We could end up offering a manger an 18 month contract and then end up in a similar position.

I want to know what the players actually think and what they themselves are going to do about it. I still feel we are light on coaching management. As for the surfeit of underachieving midfielders then we are stuck with most of them, there seems no rush to sell/loan/voluntarily terminate contracts or return any to their parent club.

That might be to do with the fact that the poll was posted a while back, and people just haven’t bothered to change their vote. I reckon if the poll was posted after Saturday, with people registering their votes, the poll would look totally different.

If he’s not going to get sacked today, then I’d like to see some sort of “vote of confidence” come out from Rupp/Rhodes. At least this would show they are in tune with the fans and acknowledge the current state of affairs on and off the pitch.
Part of the fans frustration is the lack of communication by the board and the feeling that they’ve got their heads stuck in the sand. Might pull GB out of his comfort zone a bit.

I honestly think Bowyer is here for the season. And then if we don’t go up they will reassess

Correct, I changed my vote over the weekend. I didnt think I would so soon, but there you are. I will be staggered if Abbomf's mates are all still 100% behind him

Yes, I think this too, unless he loses 5 or 6 consecutive matches, which I cannot see to be honest

No offence intended with my age comment just that a win on Tuesday night which is far from impossible will take some of the heat out of the debate, over the years we've lost to poor teams when we were firm favourites to win and vice versa, nothing surprises me in football and certainly not with regards Bradford City.

It's a shame, really, as I do think Bowyer has turned a dreadful squad into a reasonable one, and he did a lot of good work winning fans over in the Summer when morale was at rock bottom.

However, despite Bowyer's good points, the football on offer is abysmal, negative, and hard to stomach - and that just can't be.

I'm not sure at this present moment the board could say a lot, many have nailed their colours to the mast and anything less than Bowyer being sacked wont be enough for some, and that's not a dig at those fans who want the manager out.

Personally I don’t think there’ll be a sacking today or even a squeak out of the hierarchy. It’s all on
Tuesday night now. Things can change pretty quickly. We were two nil up away recently and the posts were instantly optimistic. A good win or a bad loss could determine whether he stays or goes. Crazy really but that’s football. A good manager and a good team would bounce back. As someone said perceptively a few pages back events have a way of determining themselves.

I think he'll be given tomorrow's game, but another poor performance and result will make it very ugly for him in the dugout. If rhodes wasn't there on saturday he will surely have been made aware of what was coming from the stands, but he'll get to see it with his own eyes tomorrow, which is when I think even he will recognise it's time for bowyer to go.

Why wouldn't Rhodes wasn't there on Saturday?

See as I keep saying not enough footballing people at the club.

He will be aware of Saturday as the offical Twitter was getting hammered with Bowyer out and it will continue all today & until he is gone.

If Bowyer goes, it's imperative that Drury goes too.

But then who’s going to manage the team? You don’t think they’ll have anyone lined up do you? :)

it’s a joke he’s still even here. I think the very least they can do if they don’t sack GB, is to part with Dobby and bring in an experienced coach or assistant manager to try and get a tune out of these players.
