Today, I’m not impressed with his choices

Well done to Cambridge fans too. They brought a lot more than I thought they would, and made some noise at timesrmbenson007, Paul01, Bronco and 2 others like this. -
I don't think there's anything fundamentally wrong with being narrow and playing two target men up top, but you need a lot more going on around you. You need someone in the 'Doyle' position who can both link the play with quick passing and, probably more importantly, dribble with it.
Doyle grafted his nuts off but just didn't look adept at linking the play quickly, and certainly not at running with the ball. Then, without any joy coming from the flanks either (Mellor the only person representing a wing threat), they ended up punting it high and long at the two forwards, which, by the second half, Cambridge sussed.
He's got two decent forwards there but the rest of the side looks more suited for a traditional 4-4-2 with Scannell in there. Are there any left-wingers in the squad?Bronco, Onside, Rogered Tart and 2 others like this. -
Fans seem to think that charging around and flying into tackles is showing effort. Crunching into 50/50’s. It’s not. It’s nice to see but the fact we didn’t let in a goal or gave up very little by way of a Chance is enough to show me there was effort and application.
I think we need to tweak the attack and that will happen next weekend. I’ve no doubt about it. A tweak and defend and play like we did today we will win games.

Amazing what a difference a summer makes. Last season, Anderson was a lumbering shit house who couldn’t control or pass a football and continually looked like he needed longer studs, but having had a good break and pre season, he looks like a lumbering shit house who couldn’t control or pass a football and continually looks like he needed longer studs,

Good sides are built on a solid defence and it’s clear for me we have that now.
The attack and formation needs a tweak and a couple of additions but we will win games.
And @Fordy117 using Chelsea Real Madrid etc as an example that sacking a manager works. Laughable.rmbenson007, Edinmiarse, Jayteebee and 2 others like this. -
Yesterday team selection was poor, but the thing that concerns me most was Bowyer failed to change it until the 76 minute, the Devine sub was because of injury to Anderson, not to change the formation.
I know fans around me were frustrated about not having someone in the side that could play that killer pass (although Gibsons to Vaughan nearly got us a goal but that was more down to Vaughan's ability rather than the pass) once again our possession was 61% with 22 attemps at goal 3 on target, so Bowyers not hiding when he says not good enough in the final 3rd.
A few seem to believe that this Cambridge team will struggle this season I'll take the first £10 bet for the Burns Unit that they finish in the top half of this league ?.RonnieBrown, Rogered Tart, BoingBoing and 2 others like this. -

Which other players has he picked over his own?
Not sure many have said he shouldn’t be taking responsibility. Maybe some are just allowing more than one game into a season before passing judgement on the manager and his players.Morley Bantam, Keefly Bantam, Bronco and 2 others like this. -

After reading this article I think I have judged him and he is smelling of roses.
His positivity and general persona is a breath of fresh air to this club.
We as supporters need to start properly supporting this club and show some passion.
Look at the Bolton fans. There were a true credit to the club on the weekend.
We draw and there are boo’s.
I think it’s time we took our own advice and started showing some pride in our club.Inspector, JonButterfield, BradfordBanter and 2 others like this. -
Bowyer has said and done all the right things in pre season. Got the fans onside. Respect the club etc.
However the spectre of last season is in the background and he needs to rid himself of that by winning games.
Many fans believe that’s best served by playing 442 and players in their correct positions. Saying that, it won’t matter if we go in a winning run.
But if we don’t he is making a rod for his own back.Crucian Carp, Inspector, BoingBoing and 2 others like this. -

But unfortunately, Rahic has brainwashed a few fans into thinking that you need to change managers after every disappointment.
Edin is winning, I'm afraid, people are actually on board with his managerial carousel, a tactic that has simply never worked. But why support a manager, when you can boo and call for his head instead? Keep it going, round and round in circles, a club with no direction.WilsdenBantam, BradfordBanter, YungNath and 2 others like this. -
Listening to the Radio L#@ds interview, he stated some of the players hadn’t done themselves any favours and won’t be knocking on his door this Friday.
Good.... for the first time I heard real disappointment in his voice. Forget the jokes and focus.

If we do nothing other than play 442, with Longridge at LB and with Devine and Palmer midfield and Scannell and Ismail (or Colville if Ismail isn’t ready) our wide, I think we’ll see a better performance.Stop hovering to collapse... There is an issue for me already. What is our realistic goal this year? Yes we-all want to get back to where we were, but is that realistic given the burden of our players from last year? Unfortunately last years midfield is still here and showing no signs of leaving. So we have a reasonable first team defence and strike force, but one or two injuries and we are into the second 11 and clearly they are not good enough. No amount of wishing that GB can improve them will make it happen.
JR & Rupp need to have in their minds what they expect from the squad this season; it is fine lines in LG 2 whether we end up mid table and the bottom. If our highest earners will not leave, they then have to be used. This is an extremely risky stance to take, do they have a plan B? If we end up relying on Akpan, Anderson, Doyle etc., we could end up nearer the bottom.
The positive relationship that has taken place between the fans and the squad is paper thin in my view and will soon fall apart if we don’t get a team we can identify with and fully support. A fair bit of abuse was thrown at them last night, and I had hoped we had seen the end of it.
I appreciate what Stefan has done since his partner wrecked our club, but it will all be nothing if we fail to have a team that can compete, last years players cannot be redeemed in my view. So time for a serious think about how we move forward. In my view we are 3/4 players short.Dubois, bantamdave41, Faithful Bantam and 2 others like this. -

I think we need to give GB time to make it his team but we can't hide from so many of his baffling/awful managerial decisions/selections, hope I'm wrong but my guess is he's going to fail miserably. Offering contracts to Devine and Anderson when our midfield is the poorest I can remember is just wierd, then paying an awful footballer in Doyle in an attacking midfield role is just inexcusable, Scannell on the bench, the list goes on.

You really think a manager will go with 2 wins, look clueless and make silly decisions to prove a point?
Huddersfield fans want their manager out. 1 win in 18. No wins this season. You think their manager is trying to prove a point to this chairman also?
