Ha Ha the 'when we start to question Hopkin thread' regurgitated with different names. The 'let's stick together campaign' officially closed then I take it.

Last season was a disaster because the squad was put together by a complete imbecile who thought he knew it all. Yet here we are again, 12 months later, supposedly with a proper manager who knows what he's doing. The problems remain, players out of position, no width, no pace and no ball winner. Rahic was (rightly) crucified for that, what's Bowyer's excuse?

Don’t know about ballwinner we had 66 % possession it’s how we used it that was dismal yesterday

Yesterday team selection was poor, but the thing that concerns me most was Bowyer failed to change it until the 76 minute, the Devine sub was because of injury to Anderson, not to change the formation.
I know fans around me were frustrated about not having someone in the side that could play that killer pass (although Gibsons to Vaughan nearly got us a goal but that was more down to Vaughan's ability rather than the pass) once again our possession was 61% with 22 attemps at goal 3 on target, so Bowyers not hiding when he says not good enough in the final 3rd.
A few seem to believe that this Cambridge team will struggle this season I'll take the first £10 bet for the Burns Unit that they finish in the top half of this league ?.

our possession was 61% with 22 attemps at goal 3 on target, (Bronco)

A lot different to some (most) of last seasons stats
If 1 or 2 shots had gone in it would be a lot different on here

Time some folks looked at the positives, the side will jell over the next few games
Seems some fans still have their last seasons form on them

I will add that if anyone is over-reacting it's those who jump on anyone who dares to criticise or show concern. It's not just about one bad result, it's the worry that they have gone into the new season with key roles left unfilled (again).

I agree with that. a lot of fans seem to have taken a liking to Palmer because he can pass a ball but I hope he is not another one to join the list of pretty footballers who are totally ineffective. On my first view of him in a competitive match he did nothing to change the course of the match meaningless passing and poor free kicks and corners. We need someone to open up defences and be involved where it counts

Some great points in here mate.

This thread wasn't started because of 1 game. Bowyer keeps doing the same mistakes. He keeps making subs when it's far too late. It's like he's managing on hope. It was clear changes needed to be made well before they did and that was only done due to injury.

All Bradford CIty fans knew we needed better in midfield but Bowyer decides to keep Anderson, Devine and Colville. I can't get my head round that at all. It's utter madness. 1 or 2 but not all 3 and now we still need better in midfield.

Our team lacks another forward and overall we lack pace.

Also seems like another isn't being done to get certain players out of the club.

Our bench yesterday was poor and sorry but the board, Bowyer and fans need to wake up because the changes needed are just not being addressed. We shouldn't of gone in the the 1st game of the season with such a weak non creative midfield.

You are forgetting the simple fact that those clubs you cite as being a success for sacking managers also spend hundreds of millions on players etc. A luxury we just dont have.

Just pointing out possesion means zilch, I don't have a problem with 22 attempts, but I do think as professional footballers there should be a better ratio of efforts on target, if for nothing else you making their keeper work.
Lets see what we can do at Grimsby (which won't be easy) yesterday was disappointing but not the end of the world, lets hope Bowyer can bring in a much needed play maker maybe a loan from the Premier.

You talk like you think the club arent trying to get the players in.
You know nothing at all about what is going on behind rhe scenes.
The mcburnie money will get us the players we need. Stop panicking.
Go wash your merc or something and chill out.

But it works though and that's the point.

Think people only refer to the sicking with managers thing because of Fergie but fail to remember he was one of the greatest managers in football.

Aside from left wing, what position is unfilled?

And I think Ismail will play there once fit.

Midfield we have limited movement until Mcburnie has moved on unless we could shift on akpan etc. But we can’t.

Plus if you haven’t noticed we have 3 weeks to go until the window shuts. You don’t have to get all your points in August to get promoted

Where's your proof that a change in who's managing improves results? The analysis of the stats when doing this in the Prem shows that, at best, it is a short term fix:

    https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/sacking-managers-pointless-stats-slaven-bilic-west-ham-premier-league-a8044586.html

I'd argue that if this doesn't work in the Prem, then it will be even less effective in the lower leagues because of smaller squads and budgets. We can't just keep changing manager every few months and think it will cause an upturn.

A good manager knows where things are not going well and when we are in stalemate and changes it in game as soon as is needed, He does not wait until injuries force his hand,
When Alex Ferguson was asked how can you tell a good manager he replied that a good manager sees and makes the changes in the game before the crowd realise themselves and call for them,
All the supporters hope that GB is the manager for us but on yesterdays showing where he saw like the crowd how narrow we were and the problems in the team he did nothing until forced, Must do better is the verdict

It was bad when people wanted the manager changed every month or so, then it became after every defeat now, it seems, there's calls after dropping points at home. Soon it will be if he gives a dodgy press conference or he walks down the touchline funny.
