We've sold a record number of shirts this season with the current badge and commercial sales figures are high. So what exactly is the new design going to achieve?

With a few tweaks I think it could look a lot better. I don't like the crest so I've just knocked this up in the 10 minutes before work...

I created a mockup last year of how i'd like to see City's new logo. It was heavily influenced by the revised Bristol City logo, nice and clean. Obviously i've not added the star on mine, but it was only an initial design. I'm massively biased, but I much prefer it to the actual new City logo

I've voted C, to keep what we have, simply because A and B are quite dreadful.

First off; those of us with long memories will remember the bantam and shield logo from the early to mid80's. This changed to the Boars head logo from the start of the 85/86 season.
I never liked the boars head purely because it represented the city rather than Bradford City. We're known as the Bantams so why have a pig as your logo?
The current logo was released when GR took control in 94 (not 91 as reported in the T&A).
I hated it then and still do. I wrote in the City Gent at the time that it looked like a half starved battery hen rather than a proud fighting *@?$.
Plus the whole design and font smacked of type you saw a lot in the 80's.
The new badge is certainly an improvement on what we've got now. Not exactly wow! But not bad. I'd like to see it with a couple of colour variations - using white and black in with the c&b. We've used these colours for decades so they have a legitimate place in our branding

Personally I think they should have had 4 or 5 alternatives, and put it out to a vote for Season Ticket holders (stake holders if you will).

Having said that the club had a vote on changing the kick off times to 1.00pm and as far as I know they never released the results.

If they ask you for your time and opinion, then the least they could do is show the results of the vote!

What sort of design company can be taken seriously coming up with those? All this nonsense, just keep the old badge FFS.

What do we expect to get better from having a new crest? Better results? More fans? Promotion to the Championship? Greater financial stability? A new owner? A different image? Somebody influential doesn't like it? Or are we doing it because some other clubs have done it?

I don't recall the reason for a new crest having been properly explained.

I've had a wonderful afternoon of research..... of the 92 football league clubs, only 9 of the 92 clubs haven't changed their badges since 1991. Forest, Liverpool, Blackburn & Watford have the same badge with slight tweaks so i didn't count them as having a complete change. Only us, Cambridge, Charlton, Coventry and Newcastle have the exact same badge as 91, with only slight changes for anniversary seasons.

Since 1991, 55 of the 92 clubs have changed their badges more than once. Chelsea, Barnsley & Derby have had 5 badge changes which are the most over the last 31 years. Blackpool, Brighton, Crewe, Exeter, Millwall, Preston, Rochdale, Stockport & Swansea had had 4 changes in that time.

I'm welcoming the change, it's very overdue and we need some modernising around it. Just hopefully the next pitch is something better than the first attempt.

I think I'd take bits from A and bits from B to produce something like this...

Awful looks like a badge you'd see on a primary schools uniform. Bring back the board head

Remove the shield. Keep the bantam but flip it so it's facing left. Put a football under the lifted leg. Adjust the size of the lettering, stick it underneath the bantam and alternate the colouring. Then I think we're on a path of getting something that is acceptable,,,

If you weren't an admin this post would have been moderated, there's no need to call anyone names over fecking enamel pins lol.

I like the current badge, I didn't say anywhere it was amazing. I think you're overstating the problem given you don't do anything to do with our badge professionally. The shirt printers and people who actually manufacture products for us at scale etc all seem to manage it. We've also sold pins and keyrings for donkeys years or some folks have, if you've ever done a circuit round VP on a matchday you'd see that.

I'm not a luddite but I'm also against change just for the sake of being 'modern', because it doesn't always turn out better. Hence why I used new build football stadiums as an example, most of them look shit and are soulless to me.

    Of course, a much better poll would be;

Who passed up the opportunity to have their say because they couldn't be arsed but are now wingeing like a 5 year old kid being dragged out a sweet shop because they don't like it?

    Can we change it?

see above about arriving at Yeadon and seeing (I think ) it was 3 of them from entering arrivals to going out front for the bus. Slap bang in Leeds land, made me smile. Not a fan of the design but agree with the use of it and pushing the “brand”.

Just as new kits split opinion so will the new design. Maybe fans feel this is an erosion of the clubs identity, but a younger audience will grow up thinking this design should never change. As has been mentioned before, we've had many changes to the badge over the clubs lifetime, but the most recognisable feature to neutral football fans across the UK are the colours, claret and amber. Therefore, is the badge really that important?

The game was watched by 18,615, supporters yesterday, Stockport certainly contributed to the figure unlike some other visitors.
This occurred with the current Crest/Logo, I struggle to see how the ‘rebrand’ is going to increase the numbers of Supporters. The performance on the pitch will do that.
