Club Crest (New Crest Revealed 5 October 2022) With Poll

I've had a wonderful afternoon of research..... of the 92 football league clubs, only 9 of the 92 clubs haven't changed their badges since 1991. Forest, Liverpool, Blackburn & Watford have the same badge with slight tweaks so i didn't count them as having a complete change. Only us, Cambridge, Charlton, Coventry and Newcastle have the exact same badge as 91, with only slight changes for anniversary seasons.

Since 1991, 55 of the 92 clubs have changed their badges more than once. Chelsea, Barnsley & Derby have had 5 badge changes which are the most over the last 31 years. Blackpool, Brighton, Crewe, Exeter, Millwall, Preston, Rochdale, Stockport & Swansea had had 4 changes in that time.

I'm welcoming the change, it's very overdue and we need some modernising around it. Just hopefully the next pitch is something better than the first attempt.

 

Were all friends on here, are they good enough friends for you would wager a £10 BBU bet on .

 

And people like myself that have been going 40+ years and don't give a shiny shite about the badge. As long as we are winning I'd happily see us have a big red clowns nose where the badge is.

No, i have just double checked my emails, the last email i got from City was the printable season ticket on the 1st August.

 

An email was sent out about it. There was also an interview on Radio Leeds when the badge was proposed. It was mentioned in the T&A. There was an article on the website.
For the first survey it was advertised on all of those plus at matches and that only got 5,000 responses. Maybe it's more to do with fans either aren't interested or can't be bothered.

 

At a guess you have opted out of marketing emails.

 

Check what you've opted into as it sounds like you've not opted into being sent anymore information so the club can't send you any emails.

New badge, new nickname as well then!!

 

Having worked in marketing for several years for a couple of well known brands I can tell you that the club are doing exactly what any other business of their size would do when looking to refresh their brand image.
They've employed a brand marketing company to do the redesign. As part of this process they've undertook customer insight through the various quantitive surveys.
Off the back of this they've gone away and come up with, what is, a re-brand. It's not the final design and it's good to see the club involving supporters in the process and using the feedback.
As someone whose been involved this process, nearly 3k respondents is very good. It doesn't surprise me that there's some who're apathetic. Interestingly, it's the apathetic who tend to be the most vocal once the re-brand is launched.

Neither are going to happen, I'm far from an apologist like it or not we are in a better position going forward since Sparks took the CEO position than we have been for many years, so I'm being told by a friend, ya he got lucky with Hughes but if it brings success for our club I would think the majority of fans will forget how Hughes became Bradford City manager.

If we're rebranding it must be a positive move for the club financially, but as yourself I'm not getting out of bed about it.

It's a big problem with GDPS. York City had issues with their FA Cup tie recently where they couldn't send a code for away tickets to a lot of season ticket holders as they weren't opted in to receive emails from the club. Stupid really as there's no reason I can think of why people wouldn't want to receive email like that.

 

I'm open minded about the crest change and quite like the idea. But there does seem to be an obsession with Ryan Sparks to mess about with the current one with LGBTQ colours a lot. I don't know his personal sexual preferences but I just wish the club stayed clear of political or otherwise statements regarding our identity. Everyone to their own but keep BCFC identity out of it. Rightly or wrongly, some people feel uncomfortable with this. Best if Ryan used his personal social media accounts for his values. I did notice Ryan was having a pop at our fan base being majority over 50 on the podcast thing. But his mate at Peterboro pulled him on this and reminded him the over 50's bring the most revenue into clubs. I sense sometimes Ryan is ashamed of us older lot and would rather have younger more progressive elements at the club that support his values. Sorry for going on a bit on my first post.
