If Macron have an issue with the badge then use another supplier in future. They jumped into bed with us for four years, did they not, and knew what our badge was like then?

Some interesting points made about a redesign of the club badge. If it was to happen, which is likley inevitable as not only have we gone through different designs throughout our history anyway but that our current badge is a little dated and could use a refresh, I would like to see it retain some of the features of the current badge going forward.

With this, the outcome of that survey city did was briefly: keep - shield, star, claret and amber and bantam. remove - banner and term "BCAFC" and 44% wanted shape of the badge to change.

While I would have prefered to keep the stripes, the point about four colours that @SimonW makes is right. I'd quite like to see something a bit like this quick mock up that I made:



Retains the bantam (flipped - to face forward to show progress and simplified in design), retains the star and claret and amber colours and simplifies the current crest shape to (hopefully) modernise it without it becoming one of these bland circle jobs that a lot of other clubs have. The font used is the same font as the current badge and still using a black section at the bottom for AFC as on the current badge. Added founding year as this is common on a lot of other club badges. Also removes the undesired elements people said they didn't like and brings it into one, more compact, design.

This being said, I do like our current badge and would happily keep it.

 

Sorry, but that mock-up crest is dull as ditchwater. IMHO, of course.

Fair play It's difficult because everyone will have differing opinions on what they might want from a new badge and the club won't be able to satisfy everyone unfortunatley. My main concern would be that we end up stripping away all connections to the old badge in favour of something that looks like a MLS franchise (think Salford City) or the design which originally started this thread, which to me seems like someone looked at Man City's badge and thought, we could have one like that.

Did not think it was possible but this one is even worse than the one I described as dreadful and a competitor for the worst football badge in the Country

This i think.

It justifies someone’s job keeping them busy with a redesign - doing a survey, mocking up designs then consulting people over something the fans don’t really care about.

We are not a global club and our brand is tiny and restricted to West Yorkshire, so the way we grow is to win matches and climb the divisions - when results are good we can add 2-3k fairweather fans onto our attendances.
