Remove the shield. Keep the bantam but flip it so it's facing left. Put a football under the lifted leg. Adjust the size of the lettering, stick it underneath the bantam and alternate the colouring. Then I think we're on a path of getting something that is acceptable,,,

Have they managed to consistently get it onto shirts and merch though? Or have they a lot of the time just got something that's close to it? Take the Pin Badge for sale on the official site that I posted above, its not the same logo as is on the packaging. Look at the embroidered logo on one of the older kits that the Supporters pack shows, its not the same logo. The Sticker on one of the clubs mini-busses again isn't the same.

 

While the football certainly looks better than having nothing under the foot, it has the issue of the current one and that's the dimensions. With the Shield and the text alongside while not perfect in dimensions is much closer (especially if you take the star off. Without the shield maybe the best bet is for the text to be at the side of the Bantam as it would allow for the dimensions to be made a bit more user-friendly

Except most people responding to me are disputing the rationale. I've already said in my first post about this that there are issues with the proposed one but people keep responding to me with a 'We don't need to change, its worked for 30 years

 

There are countless club crests with very similar dimensions, Liverpool and Spurs are two that jump to my mind immediately. I think the issue is much smaller than you're making out.

 

I've used enamel pins as ONE example in addition to the ones the club have talked about plus as I've mentioned before how the dimensions of the current one cause issues but no you will choose to act like its all about one thing which isn't important when that one thing is just an example of the bigger branding and merchanding issue. Branding and Merch in modern football is important because its the branding and merchandise that allows clubs to pay the ridiculous wages the kind of players you need for success demand.

But no keep acting like the current badge is amazing and that the only issue with it is in a single small area that doesn't matter.

(Oh and BTW Pins and Keyrings are some of the cheapest pieces of merch clubs produce and also some of the cheapest items for people to buy. They are also some of the best sellers because it's the kind of thing that when someone visits the club it's either a cheap memento for themselves or a cheap thing to pick up to give to people back home. It's also the kind of thing where if people are on the official online shop looking for small trinkets to buy as a gift they gravitate to. It's why if you go to somewhere like a Disney park they have so many options for both pins and keyrings and refresh them so often, not to mention regularly doing single-day pins)

Notice how poor the alignment is on all of the matches because of the Spurs logo's dimensions. And these kinds of things spill over outside the club when 3rd parties need to use the logo, especially commercial partners. It doesn't even need to be exactly equal, it's better when it is but being a little taller or wider than equal wouldn't be noticeable but with both a star and the initials under the logo like you have it then the difference is significant. It's why even with the proposed one from the club IMHO the star needs to be in the shield not above it
