Goalkeeper? He made 1-2 mistakes and has saved our asses many times over, but you still think we need a keeper? Bizarre

If Rahic had appointed a decent manager before starting to bring players in, and let the manager do it his way without interference from Rahic, then the funds available would no doubt have been spent far more wisely, and we would probably be pushing to get out of this league at the right end.

Whatever happens, if we don't sign the quality required and we do go down, it wasn't Hopkin's occasional tactical blips or Stefan Rupp not meeting the the whinging moaners demands that did the damage, it was the catastrophic damage done by Rahic that could not be recovered.

Lets not lose sight of that. Rahic has ruined Bradford City as a force in League One.

I honestly do not understand several posters on this thread. Perfectly reasonable posters who I respect are behaving like children who were promised an ice cream when the van arrives, then the van doesn’t arrive and there is a wholesale tantrum going on!!!

Which part of Rahic has done us over don’t you understand?? It was always going to be difficult in January to put it right!

We know we need at least a striker, winger and midfielder, but trying to get quality in on an Aldi budget is damn near impossible. What I can’t stand is proclaiming we are relegated if we don’t is not only premature but a self fulfilling prophecy. The players need to know the fans THINK we can get out of this. Of course I am just as dissapointed as everyone but loads of business gets done in the last few days, so you never know. I tell you what I don’t want on our books is more wage collectors, I want hard battling players who are up for the challenge.

If you read the T&A this morning. The club are now admitting that we are overspent to the tune of £2 million. Rupp is funding this, but the club didn’t want to add to this, so hence our pragmatic signings. Making sure that we move players on, obviously we haven’t be able to move on some of our most expensive contracts. We have more players we can use but it is not as comprehensive as we wanted. However, on the plus side we have recruited committed players with strong links to City, and that is the exactly what we need in the battle ahead.

No point in whinging and moaning about what we haven’t got. As you can see by our Sunderland visitor who has come to tell us how well off they are, you need plenty of money to go shopping in January. It still doesn’t guarantee promotion. We have often had a makeshift team, think 2013, but the heart and spirit of that team carried us to promotion.

So fellow Bantams onwards and upwards, our priority is survival.

Fordy, you and Onside have a good point. I can't say too much because, as you know I am no longer a Director since the change of ownership but I do believe that Julian knows the importance of being clear with us all and will no doubt be raising it with Stefan. I will mention the comments on here to JR when I see him at Wycombe tomorrow.
The one thing you have to bear in mind though is that the extent of disclosure may depend on circumstances between ER and SR which may not be resolved at the time any statement is made/interview given.
Please don't come back fishing as I won't be responding, hope you can understand why.

Spot on. A week or two ago I got stick for saying the one aim is to finish fifth from the bottom. That was when people on here were bragging how much they would take from the bookies when we made the play offs, well.......
In my view it could be anything up to three/ five years before we are back on an even keel, such is the damage across all sectors of the Club and that is based on Stefan continuing the great support he has given over the last months and Julian making the right decision about the next Chief Exec. Pivotal weeks to come.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

But wasn't Roger Owen on here stating that it'll take 3-5 years for us to recover, and that's IF Rupp continues to pump money in?

We're set to lose 1.5m this season. Given that we have several players on similar contracts next season, and we could be facing relegation and a drop in revenue, we could realistically be set to lose 3-4m over the next couple of years.

How anyone can view Rahic's rule as anything other than an unmitigated disaster, is beyond me.

You understand that Woods played left back for Huddersfield Town when Jack Hunt locked down the right back position?

He played a full season, keeping ex-Everton and Sheffield United left back Gary Naysmith out the side.

    Town got promotion.

Time to let the obsession with the fact that Woods is a 'right back' go, and accept he's versatile.

    Yeah. I blame the fans.

    Deary me.

He didn’t baulk to anyone. He provided minimal backing to McCall after the first year because he wanted him gone. Once he had full control he ran amok like a spoiled brat with daddy’s credit card.

Some saw through him straight away. Some saw sense after a while. Some only saw sense when it was too late. And unbelievably, a small number still jump to his defence!

You and Fordy chat some shit. Stefan was at VP after Edin left and was shocked at the mess left behind. Apologising for it.

If you think the only way he could have been fooled is fraud, you’re wrong. Stefan trusted Edin enough to let him run the business, if Edin is reporting all is well what’s Stefan to do? Call him a liar? You have to trust your management. Stefan wasn’t a company director. It’s normal for overseas owners to check in on a frequent basis letting the management get on with it. Don’t forget Rahic was a control freak, nobody else could contact Rupp, so the only feedback he got would be the updates from Edin. Stefan will be kicking himself for not taking a closer interest but that’s with hindsight. Rupp will have heard stories last season that the summer would put it all right, in the summer we appointed a great young coach, recruited good players, it’s all going to be ok, I’ve got rid of the malcontents. Only in September and October when the wheels were really off, and people not employed by the club started to reach out to him did Stefan realise the summer rebuilding was a disaster and the club a mess.

As for the finances, no danger of admin but we’re losing money, it needs Stefan to bankroll the club to keep it going because the expenditure is greater than the income. Relegation would spell trouble. That’s from somebody who has spoken with Rhodes and Rupp.

We don't need a "better choice than Isherwood" though. To properly compete we need to identify people who are possibly a better choice than the ones holding the first team shirts. That's the only way you'll ever "push" the other players.

We need not one, but two in my opinion. JOB and Henry have gone, Wright is going, Akpan isn’t exactly reliable.

A quality centra midfielder is our most pressing need.
