January will tell us more about his (long / short term) commitment, than any post could hope to do.

And how do we do that? Get in the real world. Jones and Reeves have valid employment contracts; we can't just rip those up because they are long term injured. We'd have to pay up their contracts, which wouldn't exactly free up money, would it?

Completely agree with you. The only way he could of had the wool pulled is if there was fraud going on. Surely we would of heard about that.
