    We don't need a "better choice than Isherwood" though. To properly compete we need to identify people who are possibly a better choice than the ones holding the first team shirts. That's the only way you'll ever "push" the other players.

    Well Burnley seem to rate him, saying he's the next Michael Keane for them, 20 games for Accrington last season 11 clean sheets, majority of hearts fans wanted him back so could be better than just pushing centre backs, could displace them

    Might sound harsh, but the decision to release Kai bodes well for this window. If we planned to scrimp, or were unsure about our ability to do deals, he wouldn’t be released this early.

    Parker reiterating that Payne is likely to leave. Has he been briefed? Making assumptions or just managing expectations...? Time will tell.

    Personally I think he'll leave and well bring in 2 strikers - one to replace Kai and one for Payne. I think we'll go back to a more traditional 442 type of setup. Which could be a shame, as we've had a glimpse of how more fluid, technical systems can be highly effective in this league

    He's been consistently saying it, I agree.

    I was fearing this week but all seems quiet and Luton's loan signing seems to put off one potential suitor.

    I would hope that if they do say they want to recall him, we'd have a conversation first about what they're asking for.
