It's not too difficult at the moment to bring in players (ability wise) to improve our squad
Why leave it till the end of the month
Surely a player will know if he wants to join us or not
If it's the player that's half hearted then leave him where he is and move on to the next
After all our targets were identified in November we are led to believe

 

He is but it isn't his money, some of our fans are acting how Arsenal's did with Wenger acting like it's his money.

Regarding your other question, I don't know figures, but going off stories from Hopkin, Rhodes and even Rupp himself in the last few months the impression I got is he'd be backed. The business I've seen so far however suggests otherwise.

Yes we have some squad fillers that are young, but the majority of Hopkin’s match day squad are experienced players.

 

28 days ago would have been sooner rather than leaving it to the last 3 days.

Yes we were given to believe we had identifed our targets so its natural that fans would think there would only be a few details to iron out, but once again it looks like it will go right down to the wire.

 

We had our best run of form coming into the transfer window - perfect time to sell the club/squad and seemingly positive turn around yet we've left it until the last 3 days, 2 heavy defeats and 2nd from bottom to try convince players to sign for us! I know and realise that we will have been trying to get the 'right' players in but it just seems like a total shambolic window again but under a different manager and leadership/money holders.

 

That is correct, so not sure why he is saying this. Maybe they lack experience rather than their age? If you have never been in a relegation battle I imagine it might be nerve wracking?

I doubt that good man management involves slagging off in public the players that will in all probability be the the ones that see us through to the end of this season

 

I think we all are. January should be about 2 or 3 players in and the same out, not the wholesale changes we’re seeing.

I think it could take Hopkin another 2 transfer windows to get a squad that’s fit for purpose.

 

Is there some sort of idea that for the last few weeks Hopkin has been sat in his office saying, “Yeah, really want that guy, glad he’s so keen to sign, but nah, we’ll leave it. I really fancy a last minute scramble for the dregs of who’s left, if in the end we don’t sign anyone that’ll be a right laugh”

 

No money in the pot it looks like, can only hope if it is only one the guy is good.

Been told Rhodes and hopkin are meeting a player and his agent later today deal agreed in principle just formalities to be done presume medical should be done in time for squad tomorrow. Am told it's a forward who has also played as a winger occasionally.

Believe the issues are down to money. The damage done by Rahic is bigger than expected. No takers for Wright, Riley, Gibson, Patrick etc = no brass to spend on new players.

 

Yes agree with that,just 3 players under 25 so not such a "young squad" after all.Can't use inexperience as an excuse if we go down,more a lack of quality.
