Not an actual true rumour but putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. Wasn't there a post in the last couple of threads that's said we were after a striker that has played winger before? Shaquile Coulthurst maybe? Maybe it's taken longer because he was playing last night? Just a guess, seen as there's not many rumours on here at the moment.

 

I honestly do not understand several posters on this thread. Perfectly reasonable posters who I respect are behaving like children who were promised an ice cream when the van arrives, then the van doesn’t arrive and there is a wholesale tantrum going on!!!

Which part of Rahic has done us over don’t you understand?? It was always going to be difficult in January to put it right!

We know we need at least a striker, winger and midfielder, but trying to get quality in on an Aldi budget is damn near impossible. What I can’t stand is proclaiming we are relegated if we don’t is not only premature but a self fulfilling prophecy. The players need to know the fans THINK we can get out of this. Of course I am just as dissapointed as everyone but loads of business gets done in the last few days, so you never know. I tell you what I don’t want on our books is more wage collectors, I want hard battling players who are up for the challenge.

My point is, experience is gained by playing competitive games at a ‘reasonable’ level. As such, playing league and cup games (not Check-a-trade or u23 games) surely gives the player some level of experience?

And I still don’t get the point you were making about Wright. His experience was gained at a number of clubs, but it’s still experience regardless. Surely?

Throw in Scannell and Mellor into the match day squad from Burton and it looks a lot stronger. If we only got a quality striker, then I would be ok with that. Midfielder and a left winger then everything is rosey.

It seems to have gone quite on the Mellor front, as I posted I spoke to him 3 weeks ago and he was training along with Colville and I assume the fitness coach, Colville is back playing yet no word of Mellor, or have I missed it ?.
