I think it will be tough for many in the lower league's.
Let's face it dress the situation up with gimicks, offers and the like but football as we knew it will never be the same.
Our club was damaged severely under Edins tenure.
Unfortunately along came Coivid which will inevitably take it's toll on the club's valiant efforts to move forward.
History he may be but but I for one will never ever forgive Edin or his regime.
Everything the club built after the fire tragedy was wiped out by his inappropriate behaviour and decision making.
I wish Ryan Sparks well in the coming months with his quest to build bridges and move the club forward but it's a task that's grown in size due to Coivid and it's baggage.
Uncertainty in abundance at EFL headquarters doesn't help matters either. -
Let’s face it, this whole issue of communication only crops up when we’re underperforming. Deliver on the pitch, give us a team we can be proud of and I’m not sure anyone is really interested in what the likes Sparks, Rhodes etc have to say.

The late Archie Christie did not deal with the sale of George Green, JR did. We had offers from Everton and Spurs and Harry Redknapp actually went to the Green household in Ossett but Julian believed the lad would be better nearer to home than London's distractions, hence Everton. When JR told us this at Board we all agreed.
You are right to suggest Mega introduced Nahki, he joined Archie's Development Squad, in fact I saw his first few games against Trinity and All Saints College with the rest of the Board, then Rotherham at their training ground with Jacko then I think he played at Silsden. Archie didn't want him largely because someone else had brought him and he had a shocker in his first game but the rest is history, just setting the facts. It was JR who signed him on the recommendation of Jacko then PP.
Mark Stewart and the late Chris Mitchell and Jack Compton were all Christie signings along with the rest of the Development Squad, non of whom made it apart from Nahki. The freedom to deal with that squad was Archie's alone and he failed to do the proper checks on our liability for fees foe Mark Stewart which cost us the money to Falkirk.
Jacko and Peter Taylor were joint decisions with Mark which they both regretted.
In terms of Admin, this was a fall out, as were the relegations from the PL days. Even with the now massive parachute payments which we didn't have look at the plight of others who have been in the PL. Bolton, Blackpool, Boro, Hull, Sunderland and now Huddersfield. We are not alone.
I'm not sure about Willy Topp but that is really scraping the barrel, I will however give you Colin Todd which JR regrets .
Remember from 2007 Mark was there as well and I know he takes his share of some of the mistakes I have noted.Budgie, Inspector, JonButterfield and 7 others like this. -

It's just twaddle! We've already been referred to as the #bantamfamily (a somewhat dysfunctional family) and probably other hashtags which I've forgotten about. We have a Facebook page, a Twitter account and a club website. There is a Supporters Board, a Supporters Trust, various other travel clubs, fundraising bodies and at least a couple of City based websites. And it's just come to the attention of the Director of Communication that despite all of these potential channels of communication, the club and its fans haven't been communicating. I like his analogy of shouting across VP to the Midland Road and nothing being heard. I sit in the MR and I hear only a deafening silence. And yet it's taken a pandemic and the cancellation of a few games (and a squeeze on the club's finances!) for the club to realise and acknowledge that communication by the club towards its fans has been pitiful. I really do object to being taken for a mug.
Some might well say that at least the club is trying. The same three key individuals - Rupp, Rhodes and Sparks - who have failed to engage with the fans in the past are still the same key individuals who are now saying they'll engage more with the fans in the future. What is changing? Communicating with the fans is a lot more than running a survey on whether fans want a refund or not. That's just a trivial issue for most. Until the club decides to engage in the important stuff - whether it's the club's own plans for the short and medium term or what is happening on our longer term future at VP or a mature debate on thhe future of the cheap ticketing strategy - then it will be just more of the same. When I see a change for the better, I'll acknowledge that things are improving but until then it really is just twaddle.Mike Hunt, bantamdave41, Rocket and 6 others like this. -

Dear Ryan
I demand change and I am ambitious.
I demand we get an owner who has money to throw at us willy nilly
I demand we get a new CEO who can take us to the top
I demand you are replaced with someone who isn't a mouthpiece for the CEO and owner
I demand the club is bought from the landlord to turn it into an asset
I demand that only the best players are recruited-no Josh Wright's again please
I demand that you put up ST prices so as to show we are a serious football club

Baldwin was instrumental along with Mega in bringing Wells to VP through their RIASA tie-up. It was then Baldwin who lead the nogotiations with Town when Wells was sold. It was also Baldwin who negotiated the sale of Wisdom to Liverpool and put in place the structure for future sales of our youngsters. To give credit to others for these is a travesty.

Mark Ellis recommended Nahki didn’t he?
You can balance all that out with:
Mark Stewart cost over £200k
Aaron McLean
The disagreements with Gibb
Administration
The last transfer window was as bad as anything under Abbot and Rahic
Waiting too long to sack Bowyer
Jacko as a manager
Peter Taylor
Billy not Willy Topp

The thing that everyone should look at, is our current position.
- We are a fourth tier club (again).
- Mid table.
- We don’t own our ground and pay a substantial figure for the rent.
- If the cap on wage expenditure comes in, our relative size, will be less meaningful.
- We have 14 players signed, a glut of centre halves and ageing forwards.
- The ground is now showing its age and some of the facilities are poor.
- Rhodes sold the club to someone who could be termed as a ‘megalomaniac’ and his ‘disinterested’ business partner.
It’s embarrassing that clubs like Accrington, Rochdale, Lincoln, Wimbledon and Shrewsbury will all be in League One, whereas we will be in the lowest tier. How, The Evidence, WilsdenBantam and 5 others like this. -

The club clearly has concerns about the salary cap proposal although haven't really explained their entire position. I happen to agree with the club on not supporting the principle of a new salary cap because there is an adequate mechanism at the moment which with a few tweaks and the closing of a couple of loopholes would be a good basis for the future. It wouldn't require draconian changes and wouldn't require a single, arbitrary cap for all clubs which doesn't reflect howsome clubs are more financially robust than others. More importantly, it would provide lower league clubs with a sustainable financial model.
I have seen nothing which suggests that the club has an alternative model to the salary cap proposal. If they feel so strongly about the salary cap proposal, why not develop an alternative and present that to the EFL and other clubs before the deadline for the vote?bantamdave41, Hoochy-Min, How and 4 others like this. -

@How I have it on good authority that your hunch of being forewarned about something to be announced that will send shock waves of excitement through the fanbase is correct.
@Fordy117 is to be revealed as director of business development, recruitment, sponsorship, communications, hospitality, ticket sales, pitch management, stadium manager, safety manager and will be pictured with one of those really big cheques showing how much the club has paid for his in demand services.

We have to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and get on with the job at hand. Get this club into the championship minimum. Drive it forward and the fans will get back onside. We know that and stop all this bantams family garbage, I want a winning team on and off the pitch, if I wanted a family day out you’d go to the theatre or the cinema. Everyone hates Millwall but you’d swap places with them in a heartbeat. A good manager and on the brink of the play offs to the premier league and only a couple of years ago we were playing the play off final at Wembley.
