Well the lower league clubs haven't helped themselves. Even @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler is in shock. The season was stopped because of no fans allowed in and it looks like it's going to start with no fans in.

As I said 4 months ago the same problems that were around then we remain today in football and that's no fans allowed and testing for players still required. I didn't see the point in the season ending and I still don't.

So, now we have to start in August or September because of TV contract issues but really we should be starting when fans or say 50% of fans are allowed back in. Talking about salary capping is utter pointless at this moment.

I am hoping over time things will improve with Baldwin in charge he knows what it’s like for lower league teams

He has started already hasn't he...The EFL want 250m from the PL. Money talks mate and Baldwin isn't going to be able to change that.

Hopefully, he will be kicking clubs like Bradford up the behind to protect themselves with future assets. Clubs in the lower leagues have just been poorly run...Simple as that.

Any remaining enthusiasm i have for lower league football is slowly being eroded. I'm really not sure i can be arsed anymore with what increasingly feels like a tinpot organisation running a shitshowin the form of the EFL. Its clear they care nothing about the pilght of its own members and haven't for years. If this is the professional game i'd much rather go to non league and have a few pints stood on the touchline. Then again our club don't help, everything always feels like an afterthought, just like our January transfer window. Nothing seems proactive, the lack of news or action coming from the club an indicator of whats going on at VP.

Pretty much how I feel. I've lost all enthusiasm for it, I see no real future for us. One thought around the salary cap though; could it be a good thing? It might force us to divert more money towards scouting, coaching, training etc. Invest money where its needed and limit the options available to the club in terms of flushing money away on aging or sub-standard players. Probably grasping at straws there though...….

The EFL have shown themselves up throughout this pandemic, for me it highlights the need for the FA to get some power and control back over the domestic game but it’ll never happen.

That said it’s the same for every club, it feels like we’re acting hard done by in the press when we’re not a unique case. Stop going over the same things every day, I’d prefer them to just say we’ve made plans on recruitment but are unable to action them until we have a definite start date so we can bring everyone off furlough. That’s if we have actually done any pre planning of course!

I'm sure you're right Park. David is very pragmatic and will slowly clear out those who don't understand and replace with his team of people who do.
I think he has a massive job and many of the elements need attention at the same time, e.g. the fall out from the F.A. inquiry into the over valuation of Derby and Sheff. Wed. stadiums and points deductions/ relegation. Wigan and the alleged betting scam, when to start the next season and with or without crowds and so it goes on. Stevenage/ Macclesfield for example.
Many of these issues have not been dealt with properly, or at all. He has a lot on his plate, good luck to him.

One thing crackpot Edin did have was a vision although he had no idea whatsoever how to carry it out. And as lower league football is going to have to change because of circumstance I'm waiting to hear what our 'blueprint' for the future is. I'm not expecting BFG grandiose or Rahic levels of stupidity, but what is that long term plan. What will Bradford City and lower league football look like in 5/10/15 years time? Where will we be playing, what division, price of tickets, self sustainable or running at a loss? What's Rupps role in all this, what's his time scale in all this? Rhodes clearly doesn't want to be here long term, how's the recruitment for a new CEO going? Are the club ever gonna crack the local area support? Will we see more local businesses getting on board because of this?

This club has tread water for far too long culminating in our last January transfer window. Show us what you hope the future holds, because 10 miles down the road they could be 3 divisions and light years between us come the end of the season. Give us something to get excited about, without that you won't be treading water, you'll be sinking

Exactly. Woe is me and all that. It's not what I'd expect from a well run, professional football club.

The club clearly has concerns about the salary cap proposal although haven't really explained their entire position. I happen to agree with the club on not supporting the principle of a new salary cap because there is an adequate mechanism at the moment which with a few tweaks and the closing of a couple of loopholes would be a good basis for the future. It wouldn't require draconian changes and wouldn't require a single, arbitrary cap for all clubs which doesn't reflect howsome clubs are more financially robust than others. More importantly, it would provide lower league clubs with a sustainable financial model.

I have seen nothing which suggests that the club has an alternative model to the salary cap proposal. If they feel so strongly about the salary cap proposal, why not develop an alternative and present that to the EFL and other clubs before the deadline for the vote?

Seriously, if Bradford City went under and Bradford AFC started up in the non league I wouldn't be too fussed.

The reset button on the club could be good for everyone.

Just sounds to me that we don't want to take people off Furlough yet and we want to abuse the scheme.

No talk of pre season, getting players and staff back, signings lined up- nothing!!

Or you intend resigning the OOC players

Surely we know for new signings you’re looking at late July for them to start contracts wise. It’s about 3 weeks away so what difference is signing someone now to another 3 weeks?
The season looks to be starting mid September at best estimates. Let’s aim for that date and stop worrying about a second wave or it behind delayed.

Think we showed our card when talking about promoting 4 youth players straight away without even telling fans who they're and what positions they play in.

It wouldn't shock me if we did resign a few of the OOC because we are lazy.

I think you’re right. That’s who we will aim for with probably Billy Clarke as our marquee signing and use the excuse we are playing to a salary cap as we’ve heard it might be coming into play in 2031

Today's article says the club has 'plans in place'. Now, I'm afraid with our track record I take that with a pinch of salt. But we're in an impossible position re signings - no idea when the season will start, but more importantly, no idea of our revenue and no idea of whether there'll be a salary cap. With the players already under contract, how can we really sign anyone? Farce.
