TBF Bronco, JR's City CV is horrendous, he's presided over 2 admins, the fall from the PL to the basement division and worse of all, the loss of our home, Valley Parade, Then, sold us to a charlatan. And still we have a garbage pitch and an antiquated ticketing system, a piss poor 1998 website along with zero (meanginful) club promotion.

The Yes man Ryan Sparks kept on saying all players that left in the window left for footballing reasons.

Well fans won't renew their season tickets for footballing reasons if Bowyer stays.

Can't be any other reason. Like mentioned in another thread Paul Hurst paid the price for his job for a similar run of form to us. However, that side murdered us. Made us look silly at times with their movement etc.... There's no other reason than the above. Can't have the football being served up the way it is and the stands empty and the ones there chanting for him to get out. There is no way back for him. He's wasting his own time and ours. The club needs to be brave and take a gamble.

I said a month ago we should have gone for him. Its coaching. We called it on here after the first couple of games this season. No evidence of coaching whatsoever

I do remember Fordy being one of the first if not THE first to suss out Bowyer. His position then is almost everyone’s default position now. He received considerable criticism. This afternoon he has been called jealous, old and poisonous for stating his opinion. That’s bang out of order. Why not simply agree to disagree and move on.

Think I mentioned it last week. I described him as fumbling around in the dark hoping that something works and clicks in the team. How can a professional manager not know his best team or system entering February? This is incompetence of the highest level. How can he be trusted to take this team forward for the future? He's got to go he's not up to the task and the players and fans know it. Just hope the board turn too.

Baffling how akpan has gone from out of the squad at start of season to a starter again.

Good question, I wish I could answer it. Bowyer talks about playing good football but all I've seen is defenders having no options in midfield and lumping it up to Donaldson and Vaughan. Its shocking football at the minute.

That's correct, however they did the opposite to us - they would not allow O'Donnell to play the short pass very often, and where we let them effectively play 40 yards up the pitch (even if each time the keeper was launching it aimlessly), we had no such opportunity.

It meant our narrow formation struggled to get the ball up the other end of the pitch without resorting to a long ball, largely down to a lack of width - several times we had to turn back because there was no winger to act as an outlet.

By half time, Bowyer had to recognise that we were struggling to get the ball forward, regardless of how ineffective their goalkeeper's encroachments up the pitch were, as they pressed us right back. Unfortunately we still lack a pacy winger, and suffered as such. But it doesn't stop me believing that a flat 4-4-2 with Vaughan and Donaldson up front all game and Scannell and Gibson (better yet, Wood) might have done the trick.

I really think Bowyer got his tactics, formation and personnel wrong today, and the fact we actually got beat rather than simply failing to beat FGR really needs looking at. I don't know if Bowyer has held his hands up yet, but he should have done by now.

It's not the point tally that's the concern. We've played 6 games this season and have been poor in each and every one of them. Improvement needed without a doubt but some on here don't half love an overreaction.

Can’t argue with that. Both gave a 5/10 performance tonight.

I get the criticism of Bowyer. Frustrations of the season to date.
Today the first half was disjointed but the second half and in particular the last 20 minutes was the most threat I’ve seen from A city team in some time. It felt like the Alamo. The subs made a difference. City got the job done against a team intent on spoiling and got knows how much time they wasted. It bit them in the arse. Not unlike your earlier comment.

Best defensive start to any season for a quarter of a century.

Baffling some want Bowyer sacked. Laying very solid foundations for a good side despite the high turnover of players.

I'd be careful with the gloating, a few weeks can be a long time in football.
