Only side to get promoted with negative goal difference I think! Oh and they didn’t win a game or score a goal of their own in the normal 90 minute games in the playoffs.

 

One of the very few teams that defied the odds. It can be done as they showed but it really is a one off. Our big positive stat so far is the goals conceded. I'm sure i read its the best for 25 years at the stage of a season. Carry that on and a play off spot is the least to expect.

 

BUT still got paid a fortune for being garbage

Best defensive start to any season for a quarter of a century.

Baffling some want Bowyer sacked. Laying very solid foundations for a good side despite the high turnover of players.

 

A good tackling holding midfielder and we will be buzzing.Maybe a spare forrad too.

 

More so considering our last 18 months, these things take time to rebuild. It would make more sense had we had a good season last year and already had strong foundations to build on. It’s like buying a house for half it’s value then moaning when you go inside and it’s falling to bits. The place needs time and money to get out and fix. A bit like our awful squad last season, remove the rotten parts and start to rebuild. It’ll still take time even though we aren’t going to shabby results wise, as Bowyer said himself it’ll take a few transfer windows. I don’t think we’ll see the full potential of a Bowyer team until next season tbh, but that’s no reason we still can’t have success this season. But it’ll be more of a grind.

Players make individual mistakes but when it was 1-1 & 2-2 in a game we were fortunate to be in, he should've settled for the point, taken donaldson off and packed the midfield. Then maybe they don't get into the areas to score their 2nd and 3rd goals.

 

Ffs are we gonna have this every time we lose a game?

We will lose games at this level. We are not Man City or Liverpool.

Look at the results tonight. Swindon got stuffed at home. Mansfield the same.

It’s a long season. We keep winning 2 and losing 1 we will be well up there.

Nice run of fixtures coming up in October.

 

We have two nice fixtures before the end of September, both struggling towards the rear end of the table.

Lets concentrate on these two games firstly and aim for maximum points.

 

This will probably happen every time we lose just as people come on and say the opposite when we win a game.

If we manage to win 2 and lose 1 for the rest of the season yes we will be well up there, unfortunately we haven’t managed those stats so far this season, won 4 lost 3

 

But draws will happen, and need to be factored in. We're currently going at a clip which will take us, in most years, to the playoffs, albeit probably in 7th. But it is still early days: beat Carlisle and the pace improves to one which in some years leads to 3rd; lose, and mid-table obscurity awaits instead.

It's been a decent start to the season, but not such as to make one confident yet of even the playoffs, nevermind promotion.

Not that I think we should be contemplating sacking Bowyer, that would be madness. But, what makes you think Parky would come back if the position became vacant?. I personally dont think he would want to do it all again here.

Believe me I'm not a massive Bowyer fan but he can't be blamed for the chances that were missed last night.
We should have been out of sight before they scored their first
The chances Donaldson missed were really poor from him.
I'm losing faith in his ability to score
Yes a workhorse but he's up top to put the ball in the net ffs
Vaughan as well with the header at the end from 6 yards out, straight at the keeper.
We created far more clear cut chances than Cheltenham
On to the next 2 winnable games with hopefully Cooke now fit enough to start and maybe Donaldson having a time out

 

Agree the guys who we believed would score for fun are missing some easy chances
Cooke IMO should be fit enough to do 60/70 minutes so for me he starts and if he is blowing around 60/70 minutes change it, but not for Anderson he's shown little of his ability after many saying he was carring an injury last season.
