Sack the manager

Can’t argue with that. Both gave a 5/10 performance tonight.

 

My first instinct is 'someone who has achieved promotion from League Two over a 46 game season', but clearly that is not a biggie for some - they will resent the idea a manager has historical accolades, and remind us they're not interested what he did elsewhere, in the past.

My second instinct is many will want someone who will be able to 'get the most out of our players, like Doyle at Swindon', but Vaughan is already scoring fairly freely and our defence is decent. Our limitations are our cheaper, squad players who were required to be cheaper because of the once-astronomical wage bill. I'm not sure someone is going to come in and get a lot out of Anderson, Gibson, Patrick, et al, but stranger things have happened (except they haven't).

My third instinct is that the repeated narrative that our managers are big meanies for blaming players for poor performances is nothing but a sign of player power, which itself is a hangover from the Rahic era (much like the appetite for fast and frequent managerial switches).

In summary, after 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats, there is absolutely no reason to hit the panic button - and I'd much rather we backed the manager than pandered to the whimsical emotions of a bunch of misfits who may or may not be complaining to ITK's that Bowyer is mean and nasty to them - it's probably the bad apples from last season anyway, most of whom are barely welcome at VP this season.

However, realistically to be a play off chasing side we need to be adding a few more wins - and over the next 10 games, the aim has to be something like 4 wins, 4 draws, 2 defeats or better - easily play off form.

Let's see how we go before playing the nonsensical game of who we bring in.

 

Bowyer may be a good manager but as a coach I don't think he has much idea the coaching set up at Bradford needs complete overall Rahic's legacy has still a big influence .

 

Offers Anderson and Devine new contracts but can't improve them? What a waste of money to the club.

And stupid decision to offer them contracts. Both clearly not good enough.

 

Squad players, at the end of the day.

Nothing wrong with a couple of young, cheap midfielders waiting for their chance.

Akpan on the other hand....

Too poor to for the 1st 11. Might as well have you as a squad player.

Akpan plays as a DM. For me if a DM is coming under pressure then as a team we don't control play.

 

I doubt you'll find many squad players in L2 that are very good.

Bowyer had Anderson and Devine last season and it was clear both are not good enough but he still offered them contracts. I and many would have rather them been let go and replaced with fresh players that at least would hopefully offer more and what take a chance in playing for Bradford.

What Bowyer is highlighting to me is that he's an extremely poor coach or he hasn't the right coaching team around him. He isn't improving any of our players

 

You wished to gamble rather than stick with the devil you know.

I used to think he was a bit of a weirdo never agreed with any of his posts on either C&B or here then I meet him..................and he confirmed my suspicion .

 

Yes. I still think there is something not right at the club the transformation in Doyle for example.

 

I don't know but the majority of backroom staff have gone, you can't change a players attitude if they don't want to be here or isn't happy.
