    GB obviously loves to sign a player or two. I wonder how long before he goes looking among the free agents for a ball winner. I’m astonished that we have such a large squad but nobody who can break up play with a sharp tackle and then make a short but incisive pass.

    Much talk about 442. It’s possible to play it in a sort of 4411 way when you have strikers who are mobile enough to drop into midfield and break from there, but our two are in their thirties which is not ideal as a pairing. I wonder how long before our much vaunted front two have to be split up.

    I'd try Vaughan with Connelly and Pritchard either side with an AM behind, the rest anyone's guess.
