Drury also needs to take some responsibility for the lacklustre start. Can't see his coaching having much effect so far.

Jury is out for me. Yeah we judge him on the past three games of this current season, but we should also be mindful of his performance as manager overall, which of course includes his tenure last season. Either way you look at it, no wins in THREE games, and 2 wins in TWELVE games is not very good.
However, sacking him now and having to go through the whole process of finding a new manager who can get a tune out of players he didn't sign, would also be a disaster.
The BEST way to change this, as everyone knows, is that Rupp realises that he has to put his hand in his pocket (or take the transfer windfall jar off the shelf) and invest in Bowyer to help him get the job done.Rocket, Chad, bantam2708 and 2 others like this. -
Second half although Oldham kept getting forward we looked far more comfortable and should have run out winners with at least another goal or two.BoingBoing, Wakefield Bantam, Get Rid Of It and 2 others like this. -

The difference was the clinical finishing of JV CD and SS. I suspect that will be said a few more times this season.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
And time wasting? When we're standing off their keeper to the extent that he can dribble to the half way line, we lose the right to complain.
We need to take responsibility. We had negative, fearful tactics that played right into the opposition's hands.

Somebody has made a good point tweeting into Radio Leeds. Bowyer did well getting the majority of his players in early pre-season, which should have allowed him to settle on a winning formation. However, one month into the season, and he is still tinkering with his formation. Baffling to say the least

1 - 0 up no need to chase the second goal stay solid and let them push forward to get back into the game, BUT the very thing Bowyer says he wanted in his side PACE is sadly lacking in this squad.bantam2708, Ricky, Onside and 2 others like this. -

Many on here suggested or agreed 10 games in is the time to start judging.
Win tomorrow and it's 17 points from 10 games.
OR - 1.7 points per game ....... Possibly leading to - 78 points from 46 games.
Most would take that now, I reckon !Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...JonButterfield, Mitchelldownie, RCarol and 2 others like this. -

It’s clear for most of us that the squad still needs a lot of work. Bowyer himself keeps pointing out (said it again tonight), that he’s signed 10 but still hasn’t signed half of the squad he has.
That said, he is to blame too. He gave contracts to Colville (assume he’s signed seen as he was on the bench today), Devine and Anderson. If money is tight, why waste it on those 3. Most of us can see that they aren’t good enough. We’ve got to hope he’s given some money to bring in another 2-3 players in the next couple of weeks.
But I think what p1ssed me off more than anything today was Bowyer’s reluctance to change his tactics. It was clear we were too narrow and Cambridge were finding it too easy. They then went down to 10 men and took off a striker. Our response was to take off the injured Anderson and replace him with Devine. WTAF...!
Cambridge actually looked the better team for 15mins after those changes. We waited until the 76th minute to revert to 4-4-2, with Scannell coming on to replace Doyle. We looked a little better and we should have made the change much sooner. But the final bonkers Bowyer decision was to replace his ‘makeshift’ left back with the natural left back with 10mins to go, when we should have been throwing the sink at it.Stop hovering to collapse... Simple fact 433 will not work for us all last season we needed width and was the same from the word go yesterday. The last 20 when we went 442 we looked and created more simple put the crosses in and Vaughan and Donaldson will score plus you can see that half a chance Vaughan will get a shot away. I thought Devine did ok when he come on agree with everyone about Anderson and Doyle should be no where near the first 11 and Gibson there is a chance here for him to stake a left winger spot but needs to do the basics like a simple pass sometimes. I would let Palmer create and bring in a no nonsense that's my ball midfield general next to him as the defence looks stronger and even thought O Conner had a decent game MOM for me and i dont like him. Last of all i would of put wood on when we went 442 for Gibson but all in all we need to get behind this team and have a real go this year.
