Devine shouldn't start for us no matter what barring the cup games.

Palmer has been a major let down.

Anderson should never ever been offered a new contract and isn't good enough at all.

I wouldn't of swapped the O'Connors about in yesterday's game.

Just think Bowyer acts scared of teams. It's like he has no bottle. Making wrong decisions at key moments for the club.

Agree. As soon as it was 1-1 or 2-2 we should've gone 5 across the middle and settled for the point.

For me it's like he lacks belief in the team at team.

Paudies just come back from injury, would you rather he played 3 games in 10 days and knacked himself and potentially miss more games or keep him fit?

For those wondering why I've an obsession of getting Gary Bowyer out the football club, its due to the fact he'd done nothing whilst been at the club.

He came in to the club last season to turn things around and try get something going but to no avail he didn't achieve that. He was then awarded a long term contract with the club. He'd had 15 signings and a top 6 budget yet he insists on playing Devine, Anderson, Akpan etc. All which aren't good enough for local Sunday football never-mind a side aiming to win the league two title.

His tactics and style of play is very questionable, his squad selection is baffling as I mentioned and he never blames himself - It's always pointing the finger and never taking responsibility. We are already seven points behind Exeter, James Vaughan is on the verge of suspension and Donaldson is tiring more games he plays. It was madness to play him last night, should of rested him and played him this Saturday. The man-management is horrendous. I don't understand how he doesn't see things and pick it up and adjust. He's been on the courses, been in the game a long time. He's truly clueless.

He got rid of Eoin Doyle because he had no idea how to play to his strengths, We let him go he's banged seven league goals in already. He'd probably be on 10-12 if we let him go earlier. We've got James Vaughan arguably the best striker in the bottom two divisions and Bowyer has no idea how to give him service.

It needs addressing and quick. We won't win anything with GB at the helm and that's a fact. You can quote me all you want, i'll bring this back up after we fail promotion or GB walks.

This will be almost as good as me protesting that Anderson will come good.

I’m sorry. He’s like someone’s uncle Knobhead. There’s no sense of entitlement here that we should be winning this that and the other. For me GB, doesn’t fit the city standard of contemporary managers and we need someone with some charisma and a spine.

    Woeful appointment.

And I also hate it when managers call players by their nicknames in their press. McCall was guilty of this also.

GB you’re not one of the lads you’re the manager!

Gb shouldn't be sacked yet, but he needs to work out who to play and where to play them.

he doesn't get off scot free for last season either, if anything, results got WORSE after he came in rather than better! I know the team was awful and this was after the number 1 problem had already left the club.

Just a reminder for those calling for Bower's head that out of the 4 teams relegated last season, we are currently placed highest in League 2. Yes we would all like to be even higher, but we are only 3 points off third place not languishing somewhere near the bottom. Lots of people were predicting Plymouth would be runaway leaders at the start of the season but it hasn't happened and they lost again last night, but I bet their fans aren't shouting for Lowe to be sacked.

Lowe has just joined and doesn't have the experience Bowyer has.

Generally agree apart from the last sentence. Pretty sure somewhere in deepest Devon they'll be a Fordy117 equivalent having a field day.

So getting a team promoted from this league to league 1 last season is less experience of what's needed than Bower's experience of doing ita few years ago? OK, if you say so

I'm still getting my head round the notion that Fordy recognises the concept of a 'honeymoon' period. He's never done so before.

You make it sound like we let Doyle go for footballing reasons?

He was allowed to leave to bring our budget closer to where it needs to be and the move was money orientated.

Doyle has banged in goals galore, yes, but if you listened to the experts on here, few were disappointed to see him leave at the time because, apparently, he was absolutely useless!

Bowyer still has his hands tied to an extent. We all know central midfield is THE area holding us back. Unfortunately when we had Riley, Scannell, Wright, Doyle etc all on big money, it has meant it has taken time to move them on.

Devine and Anderson were offered extended deals on the cheap but Bowyer has put more resources into other areas of the team, bringing in BRE - who most would argue is our best player in the handful of games so far - along with the promising Paudie O'Connor from Leeds. However, most of the resource has gone into the attack, bringing in Donaldson and Vaughan, two signings the fans were salivating over.

You can see that, in turn, as we've managed to move on other players, we're sought to address the midfield issue, bringing in Palmer, Cooke, Connolly and Pritchard. All have made positive contributions since arriving in my opinion, but we couldn't address, DF, MF and ST positions properly all in one go given our budget.

We are still not the finished article but calling for the manager's head already is a bad, bad call. We are probably not going to see the best of this City side until the second half of the season, when we'll hopefully have brought in that elusive ball winner in CM. Until then it is all about keeping in touch of the playoffs and getting by with the players we've got.

Looking at the league table shows there are teams in worst predicaments than us. Look at Plymouth and the money they've spent bringing in players like Danny Mayor? Mansfield got gubbed 4-0 home to Cambridge last night and have one of the best squads in the division. Moneybags Salford are struggling following their promotion and taking time to adjust.

We've played the likes of Cambridge and Northampton who are around us in the table and they were nothing teams. You'd be surprised if we finished below them at the end of the season. We've played Forest Green and Cheltenham, who are two of the playoff hopefuls, and we weren't disgraced in either of those games. It is a bad league, full of bad teams and bad players, but I don't think this City side has done more than 60 % of what it is capable of and that is due to being held back by formation tinkering, injuries, and the lack of a CM.

We've finally established 4-4-2 is the way to go, thank God, and and we are making progress. We ground out back to back wins prior to last night and should have really come away with the point at Cheltenham given the quality of the chances we created. BRE had a header cleared off the line, Vaughan had a good header saved by the GK and Donaldson put a tricky shot in a great scoring position wide. We are getting at teams down the wings now with Connolly's pace (he also put on the goal) and look more dangerous again.

We'll dick Carlisle at the weekend and hopefully that will shut up the critics and give them a night off on Sat.

Yeah but will we meet the intangible, immeasurable concept of 'playing well'?

Always a drum you can beat even if your club is winning.

So, all this negative talk about Gary Bower but here is the elephant in the room.
Who would you replace him with?
Who has the credentials to get us out of this league?

Some on here need to take a couple of reality pills and understand that we ain't going to walk out of this league and don't just need to turn up each week and think we will turn over teams.
This is league 2, the khazi league, bottom of the pyramid where mediocre players or has been's end up. The place where clubs are fighting just to exist.

    Cue the torrent of abuse........

A fair post @borderlescott@borderlescott , with no knee-jerk reaction either way.
I'm obviously playing catchup with events at the moment, but which ever way we view things, results and consistency need to improve, but as you say .... We're still in touch with the play off positions, and we'll always have a chance if we can maintain just that, for now.
