This is standard bradford city fare. Other than the rahic years which we wont discuss. Every season its a case of we lack one or two players. We get close but not close enough. We get hit hard with injuries or the pitch is more of a mudbath than a playing field. When are we ever the team in first place? the team with the best budget? the team with the best facilities? never as far as i remember.

Bowyers record last season should be expunged because he played signed bradford players rather than the host of loans we had. We all settled for relegation and at the time was happy to see him planning for the next season. He should be judged on this season alone.

The thing that im noticing more is a lack of confidence to take the player on or take a risk for fear of mistake. We need to get past this and I think it comes from midfield. IMO we should start Cooke and Palmer together in the middle and see if we can be solid with quick passes out to the wings.

His game management is still questionable to my mind, Team selection also brings a question mark but he seems to need time to decide his best team so we will have to wait and see if he is as good as we all hope he is.

 

His downfall will be Centre Midfield.......

Needed a leader and hes got no one close all are weak....3 of them being Devine, Anderson & Akpan who are simply nowhere near good enough...

People talking of sacking Bowyer, deary me. The bloke is at the start of a major rebuild job remember, the one that was necessary after Rahic?

The team is clearly bedding in and we’re doing alright overall.

It’s a sad indictment of football fans today wanting to sack managers after a handful of games and reminds me why I’m going on the likes of this forum and Twitter less and less these days. I think there are a few *fans* on here who would rather be right than see us do well. They made their minds up when we lost our first game that Bowyer should go and are so desperate for that to happen just so they get the opportunity to say 'told you so'.

 

When do we judge? Anytime now I’d say. Maybe tonight. GB, whom I happen to like as a person, has now had long enough this season to indicate how the rest will likely pan out. Win tonight and it’s been an okay start. Lose and the auspices are not good.

 

One things for sure, we wont lose tonight!!

How so? Actually I wrote it last Tuesday but only discovered today that for some technical reason it hadn’t gone. I’ll make the point again that we are now getting to the point when we can judge the manager and each successive result gives us more information.

 

Many on here suggested or agreed 10 games in is the time to start judging.
Win tomorrow and it's 17 points from 10 games.
OR - 1.7 points per game ....... Possibly leading to - 78 points from 46 games.

Most would take that now, I reckon !
