If any player stops trying for our club I hope they wouldn’t be too far behind him out of the door!

Because I am fickle through and through then Bowyer gets judged at Christmas now for me. He certainly shows more passion on the sidelines than his interviews. Let’s see what he does with his squad of players.

He does, he was absolutely raving at Devine on the touchline seconds before giving him the hook

Well GB recovered a fair bit of credibility for me yesterday simply by playing 4-4-2. If he keeps playing like that with two of Palmer, Cooke and Devitt in central midfield and two of Ismail, Pritchard, Connolly and Wood out wide I don't think we'll go far wrong. The likes of Akpan, Anderson, Devine, AOC, McCartan, Gibson, Reeves, Robinson, Patrick and Riley can be kept in reserve for backup or until we can get rid of them. That's an awful lot of mediocrity still to move on but there we are. The trouble for me is that I felt like this after the Oldham game and we all know what came next. The acid test will be whether Bowyer keeps to a winning formula or starts messing about with formations again, but the fact he signed two wingers this week is very encouraging.

Agree with most of that apart from these two :
AOC he's had a decent start to the season thought he was unlucky not to start yesterday but we had to get Paudie back in,
If Reeves comes back and performs as he did during the first 6 months before his injury he'll be an asset.

I agree about AOC. I think he's been very unlucky to lose his place. Reeves I doubt we'll see again, but who knows?

Can't believe you brought Reeves into it mate.

He's been out for nearly 2 years. It's unfair to expect him to be like the 1st 6 month he joined the club.

Forget about Reeves. We've about a million midfielders anyway.

If he's fit and as I posted comes back to as he played in his first 6 months I believe he'd walk into our present midfield.

If he does come back, he'll have missed 2 years. I struggle to see how anyone can pick up playing professionally again after so long out.

We'll have have to see, you could be right, but as I say anyone who's fit and can kick a ball has got to fancy his chances of getting into our midfield at the moment.

I think that's a bit harsh Broncs. We dominated midfield after Devine went off yesterday.

We were losing 1-0 with 20 minutes to play, I think it was more to do with the Ismail for Connolly that actually changed the game

I think the change in the game was down to both. Cooke moved the ball quickly and accurately and got it out to the wings without taking 10 minutes thinking about it. Ismail then ran at their defence and was a real threat. It needed both changes in my opinion.

He's better than Devine and he's not played in 2 years.

You're right but Cooke was very efficient in getting the ball to him and very composed overall.

Ismail responsible for the goal all day long but as has been said, Cooke allowed us to dominate the midfield much more effectively, which allowed us to play ismail in so many times. Cooke has to start ahead of Devine for me now.

Seems a little scared does Mr Bowyer.

    Worrying about other teams.

Also not getting this managing players fitness thing.

If you're going to change a winning team then surely do it at home.

I get your point, but if he hadnt dropped devine yesterday you'd have gone bat shit crazy.

My main gripe is that he isnt proactive enough. Palmer and anderson were completely over run and were sitting so deep we let them pass up the park. Our mid 2 got no support all night from either winger (pritchard passenger all first 80 mins )or vaughan/donaldson dropping in.

A good manager would have stepped in, its no point saying but we scored, we were 2nd best and everyone watching knew what was going to happen except bowyer it seems
