The decision to play full team of triallists in a couple of the friendlies was madness, and a waste of valuable preparation time.

The first half dozen games of tje season seems to have been experimental time with selection and formation. We all thought Bowyer was going to be well prepared for the season from the off, clearly we were wrong.

A lot of fans, like me, who last week rubbished the suggestion that he was under pressure already, admit now, that he is.

I cannot defend him after yesterday's decision to change the defensive set up. This was one area that he had got spot on prior to yesterday, it doesnt make sense, and listening to him post match, he seemed to think it worked!

He urgently needs a couple of league wins now, or the knives will be getting ever sharper, with a certain former favourite manager available now too. For what it is worth, I dont think Parky would come back though. He will want to be rememered here for the spell under Lawn and Rhodes, not start again

As I said elsewhere, the signs are not good but if you employ a manager you must give him a fair chance. I think it unfair to judge Bowyer on what he failed to achieve last season with other managers’ signings. Equally, it’s premature to condemn him this season. If you let him sign a dozen players, you can’t sack him after two narrow defeats. We’ll probably know better in the next three or for matches whether he’s going to bring success or failure. Calling him a clown is harsh. He seems like very decent bloke concerned for his players’ welfare. This is not the same thing as bring a successful manager, however.

Next match may not be a must win, in the usual sense, but it will certainly be a watershed of sorts, indicating which end of the table we are looking at. I do hope we will be looking up.

Judging by comments on social media and the internet. Bowyer is losing a lot of fans.

I do hope tomorrow he is scouring the whole market not just a small corner of the west coast. And I do hope it’s not another mediocre midfielder or a panic buy in the wrong position. Tomorrow will tell us a great deal, one way or another.

Any links to what's being said ??
Both very similar sort of managers with matching self esteem
Talk a good game but both as yet to prove themselves

Away from home it’s difficult to play two up top. I think yesterday he tried to find a formation that did not leave us light in midfield and also made use of one of our best players, Paudie, who would otherwise not have got a game. Trouble is this left a huge gap in the space behind Mellor, who is not mobile enough for the advanced role. Their lad got in easily the first time and missed but was allowed an almost identical second opportunity. How long before he realises one obvious solution is to leave out one of his two strikers but has he the guts to drop one of his much heralded star strikers, one of whom is captain.

Just reading the Sunday Mirror and Petits comments about Unai Emery and he says: "So far I have a feeling that he's still looking for his team. He's still looking for his system and his first eleven. That creates problems if players aren't clever enough to take on new information and roles. He's trying different systems all the time, moving players around different positions but only a small percentage of footballer's are intelligent enough to be comfortable in different positions and tactical set ups. Most just want to stick with what what they've learned. If you change every single weekend what you're asking from them that's difficult."

He's talking about Premiership players there not League 2 players!!

Get a formation, stick with it, coach it every day, find your best 11 to suit it, play to your strength's, take it to the opposition, don't worry too much about the opposition let them worry about us. Study the opposition to see how we can exploit them rather than contain them. Let them worry about our quality strikers who can quite believably get 35 between them this season.

If you believe in playing out from the back do it, don't go long and bypass the creative players you have brought in as that leaves them redundant.

Wood and Gibson down the left look capable of creating crossing chances. Maybe the right-footed left winger Ismael can cut in from the right and swing the ball in. Maybe Pritchard can link up play. Maybe the goals will come? Just trying to be positive because I am determined not to be all doom and gloom after only six games. But it’s not easy.

    Not 6 games!

And you're living off hope based on that post.

Only Wood has shown anything in your points.

Sorry I meant Ismael, the left-footed right winger. I’m still waiting to see him play - and hoping.

I'd love someone to send that to Bowyer, his tactics were absurd for that game.

What on Earth was he thinking?

when and if senior players stop trying, the likes of Vaughan et al., that's the time when Bowyers game is up.
