    Poor window and voted accordingly.

I'd say despite what 12/13 signings we are a weaker side than last year

Signings appears to have been brought in without any real planning in mind

    Leaner and meaner?

Last two weeks of August left attempting to right the wrongs of June and July.

    Shambolic again from all involved

All personal opinion, i agree others will see things differently but Just think the only improvement Jon is Pattison, who is someone we had nobody like last year.

Odour - signed as a left wing back yet doesn't want to play there. Seems himself as a number ten yet is never a million years a ten. Has done no supporting of cook when played as a ten

Oyogoke - question marks on last year at MK, not yet dispelled them. Brought into replace Halliday but now find halliday ahead of him. Has played twenty mins at centre half and got sent off and ended in midfield on Saturday. Not convinced yet on RWB performances, doesn't seem comfortable with the ball

Taylor - we were told we had signed a lump, looked like a lump pre season, played like a lump in his only game

Macdonald - good signing on paper, however we play on grass. Be amazed if we get twenty games out of him

Richards - signed as LWB because Oduor turned out to not be left back we wanted

Smith - possibly an upgrade on Derbyshire, is he going to get 10 goals plus you need from a second striker? Probably not. Makes good runs but wasn't the supplement we needed

As I've said, the later lads brought in have been signed because we didn't do the initial job correctly.

We signed wingbacks (who aren't wingbacks) to play a formation none of the centre halves are comfortable with and are now having to deal with that (Tomlinson)

We were left with no wingers, so have taken a punt on wilson at the last minute.

In panic we have also Taken on a striker from a youth team with the same amount of league goals as a striker in our own youth team.

Its a bloated squad, one that we said we wouldn't end up with this year. It's a mess and it's showing.

Too much of the budget has gone on too few players, and the rest are very much of a muchness.

We needed three or four key signings to improve on last year but we have set about trying to reinvent the wheel.

It's the wing backs being full backs, the centre backs having no pace, the midfield having little positional awareness or pace or confidence in their ball ability, and the front line having zero consistency all season so far....... other than that......

Dan Agyei - contract is up in the summer with Crewe, Only saw him play yesterday but he was quality and has scored 16 goals for Crewe this season. I expect he will have a few suitors this summer but he would be a quality addition to the team.

Paudie had no pace at all yet he's a regular now in league 1. To be fair most centre backs in the lower league are slow.

Would be a good addition, gives us a pacey option upfront. Priority for us next season has to be a midfielder who is comfortable turning with the ball and with pace over 5 yards to get away fork the player turned. Nicky Law was good at it, could carry the ball 30 or 40 metres but was always in control of the ball.

No more middle aged players who can't last a full 90 minutes thank you very much

Halliday played nearly every game of the season after being out with injury for virtually all of the previous season. No surprise really that he tailed off a bit in the last few games but still my third choice as player of the season.

Why do we never put someone wide of the oppo penalty box in case of overhit corners? Does my nut in, the number of corners that sail over everyone when a man posted on the opposite side could get it and launch it back in. It would also require the defence to take a man out of the box to mark him, leaving the box less congested, so more chance of a shot going in.

Or maybe even a real surprise, i.e. someone whose name hasn't already been rumoured.

I hope whoever signed off on the 3 year deal is looking in the mirror this morning. No need to dish out contracts on unproven players, until you've at least seen them in action, or they are proven in this league or above. Gent needs to up his game as there's a finite amount of money that needs to be spent wisely.

Smallwood was a cracking signing on paper - a statement of intent. More to come from him next season hopefully.

Critchlow and Banks were more than passable too. Halliday and Stubbs look decent enough. Walker another - injuries didn't help. Chapman finished strongly. Not a bad signing by any stretch.

I think we built a promotion winning squad last season. Hughes let us down on the field if anything.

Agree. Although from a pace point of view, he may not be the quickest in terms of sprinting, where he did look quick vs us, was his ability to turn and move the ball on. Thought the same every time I’ve watched him. I always thought Watt had the same asset.

Quickly moving the ball on was a massive flaw in our CM last season, Smallwood especially really slows the pace down and hinders our ability to counter. I think Williams solves this and in some capacity, an asset East looks to have (as back up).

Was discussing this with Bronco the other day, other than what the club creates itself and the Tv money, we have no other means of income like the likes of Salford do. We have a very strict budget to work and unfortunately it seems there are clubs in the division with deeper pockets. Good luck to Williams, as a player you have to do what is right for yourslef but for us we move on. Plenty more players out there that will strengthen our first team and be more likely to play the full 90 minutes, something Williams wasn't capable of doing last season.

If you look at 18 year olds moving away from home, to go to University. Young people joining the Armed Services and being posted abroad. Then it seems bizarre that footballers cannot move for a reasonably well paid job.

Not sure why Parker had to mention the club paying for the hotel room. Jeez it makes us look like we’re skint. What was it £200 - £250 top end? Surely we’re not looking to claim it back from him.
As others have said, his agent has done a cracking job for his client so can’t blame him really. I wonder if he gave the club chance to match the Gillingham offer, if not, we know what his real intentions were from the off. Time to go to plan A version 2, because his calibre is exactly what’s needed and will be needed to get out of this league. Plan B’s just won’t cut it.

By the way, I can see Gillingham being there or thereabouts with Harris having a full preseason and money in kitty.

Annoying thing for City is whoever does fit that slot has to be level or better now. If its some L2 journeyman then the forums and social media will have the new lad wishing he'd never bothered.

A bit of an over the top reaction on here and on Twitter but what’s new ;)

This kind of thing happens all the time in football and while were the victims this time, we will have been the benefactors previously. Simon Parker really needs to look at his reporting though as he clearly jumped on the article from the Sun a few days ago and jumped the gun and then his report in the T&A today is frankly embarrassing. Talking about the club putting the player up in hotels etc, until he has signed the contract he can talk to whoever he wants. His agent has got his player the very best deal possible. Fair play. He would have been a very good addition but there are plenty of Jonny Williams style players out there and we clearly offered him a healthy contract meaning that we aren’t scrimping this window. We move on, its all part of the game.
