Was discussing this with Bronco the other day, other than what the club creates itself and the Tv money, we have no other means of income like the likes of Salford do. We have a very strict budget to work and unfortunately it seems there are clubs in the division with deeper pockets. Good luck to Williams, as a player you have to do what is right for yourslef but for us we move on. Plenty more players out there that will strengthen our first team and be more likely to play the full 90 minutes, something Williams wasn't capable of doing last season.

Now I'm not suggesting being self financing isn't a good thing but it looks like this guy means business, Gillingham looked a good side when they came to Valley Parade in April and I believe they will be in the shake up come April/May 2024.

 

I can't see him fitting in at Gillingham. Harris has his team playing very direct.

Agents played a blinder. He'll have been talking to Gills, couldn't agree on a number. Take City's offer up, leak it to the press to show Gillingham he's off to a rival, they end up blinking and giving him a daft amount.

Confirmed by Parker that City offered him more than what he was on at Swindon and he was a top earner at Swindon. So Gillingham must have offered a good L1 level wage.
