I never realised there were so many medics and psychologists on here and the bcafc hashtag. The most important thing is that Jake Reeves is back playing football and doing what he does best. Time to lock the thread.

Totally disagree. We should continue to monitor him here under Bowyer, who Reeves seems to trust and have confidence in. Let him ease his way back into our team, no need to go out on loan

I love Gazza - he's my footballing hero but I wouldn't be taking recovery and rehabillitation advice from him. **so funny**so funny

    Alcohol or Drug ?

It would be nice to hear from the man himself to clarify exactly what’s wrong with him.
The lack of info leaves a void for the rumour committee to fill.

If we can get the Reeves of the first 6 months, he’ll be a big player for us.

Why so uncaring? wheres your compassion? if he has a year left on his contract why bother paying him off why not let him try recover? These lads are institutionalised from a young age you only have to watch the telly last night with the ex SAS guy saying as soon as he was discharged his problems became worse.

Bradford city arent just about the winning mentality and youre a grown man, act like one!

Theres no need to step carefully "for HR reasons" - he should be treated equally and compassionately the same as any employee.

No one needs to know what his condition is even though its hard with footy as we all feel invested in the team but we've no right to know what his condition is, it's private. If it was some guy at work who wasn't well and was off you wouldn't be walking round moaning that no one told you what his problem was!

Jake is probably having minimal financial impact on the club just now, he's probably being paid by the firms insurance so anything we can do to get him involved and utilise his skills maybe through scouting like GB did or just trying to get him fit and feel like a footballer again will be worth the effort.

Which bit of his post wasn't in line with forum etiquette? Seemed a very valid point to me. How long will we wallow in the post Edin malaise?

Don't forget contracts don't expire until the end of the month so unless both clubs agree any announcements before will likely be classed as poaching which is a serious offence. In addition many players wait for the June pay cheque before moving, even if they are going to be out of contract. Bit of patience needed here please.

As I understand Ricc, he has been in training for the whole of pre season, building up to the last two weeks of ball work. We shall see.

Bowyer's told him he wouldn't get in the team ahead of Anderson, so he's calming off the training ;)

All this 'he's finished' stuff puzzles me. How do any of us know?

He was highly thought of at Wimbledon and started the 17/18 season very well for us before he got injured. You don't suddenly forget how to play football because you've had a period out.

None of us knows what the injury (ies) was or how well he'll recover. If he's three quarters of the player he was he'd be a significant improvement on most of the CMs we have now.
    Let's just see what happens.

    Those examples aren't disgusting though.

They're hardly personal attacks, just people losing patience with a situation that, in all honesty, cannot NOT test people's patience.

If the worst outburst is 'he is stealing a wage', them frankly there's nothing for you to be outraged about.

Look if you know him as you say (I know Jake and some of the stuff been said on here about him has been discussing), then I suggest a couple of things. You talk to him and suggest he puts out a statement and/or does a candid interview with the press. If he doesn’t want to be open about the situation, then perhaps you just let things go, as this thread will eventually lose momentum and drop down and become dormant. You replying to everything is just keeping this thread going. Unless there is anything fresh to add, then as far as l am concerned this is going nowhere and frustratingly it will remain a mystery.

Me, I couldn't give a monkey 's . His health is his and the club's business, not mine. Whatever it is, I hope he can finally put it all behind him and resume his career. Whether that's here or elsewhere isn't relevant but I would hope it will be here.
