GB clearly has paid more attention to Jake than anyone else over the last 18 months. We've had 3 Managers, one German so called fitness coach and a know it all Chairman who all dumped Jake as far as I can see. The solution of Edin, as in all cases of failure was to simply sign another in the hope we could get promotion and the blown budget could be covered by Championship money. GB has clearly got a handle on things. I would suggest you drop the speculation on Jake and let those who are dealing, deal.

I'm not speculating. From a footballing point of view a player that has missed over a year it's hard to get them match fit. It takes months.

The situation you say applies to all the players last season with Edin that I agree with but maybe that situation should of been spelt out because still now the squad from last season is getting hammered.

We can't keep blaming Edin forever though. Decisions and direction is required.

You're the first to hammer players but clearly people like you are picking and choosing when it's acceptable to blame Edin.

If Reeves is allowed to have Edin has a reason then so are all the other players.

So message to all back off the players from last season. Accept we had 2 poor managers and the Edin factor.

No, I have looked back at the season and if people are using Edin as a reason for failure then all the players can be excused then.

Can't be one rule for one and another rule for others.

The club needs to stop using Edin as an excuse now and move on. GB needs to do his job and make players perform.

Called it a while back. The guy is a hypocrite of the highest order. Continuing to hammer the likes of Devine, Anderson, Colville & Reeves, whilst telling the rest of us to stop criticising the likes of Wright, O’Connor and Doyle....!

I've fully explained why.

Devine, Anderson and Colville were out of contract and we offer contracts to players that really wasn't good enough to make a difference to the 1st team. We can't slag off the squad moan about money then offer contracts out like it's going out of fashion.

I've also said that on reflection on the season it's seems that Edin clearly had an effect on the squad as mentioned above so really we all need to back off the players that are here and now we're Edin free see what happens. If players leave then they leave. If they stay then we should back them.

That's not being a hypocrite. What's wrong is people using Edin as an effect on selected players rather than the whole squad.

 

Bobbins. You have criticised Anderson (for example), yet he was keeping Wright out of the team. Now you claim he’s a waste of a signing, whilst Wright should be cut some slack because of Edin. WTF??

As for Colville and Devine, how do you know they won’t come off the bench and fulfil a role? Colville managed some good performances from the bench last season before he picked up his injuries. Nothing to suggest Devine cannot be cover for Mellor and also Wright/Akpan. If they deserve another ‘Fordy’ chance, why not Devine on less dollar?

Theres no need to step carefully "for HR reasons" - he should be treated equally and compassionately the same as any employee.

No one needs to know what his condition is even though its hard with footy as we all feel invested in the team but we've no right to know what his condition is, it's private. If it was some guy at work who wasn't well and was off you wouldn't be walking round moaning that no one told you what his problem was!

Jake is probably having minimal financial impact on the club just now, he's probably being paid by the firms insurance so anything we can do to get him involved and utilise his skills maybe through scouting like GB did or just trying to get him fit and feel like a footballer again will be worth the effort.

Whilst I agree with your overall sentiments, there is a massive difference between the examples you give.

Staff don’t help pay the wages of their colleagues unlike football fans who do, in part, pay the players’ wages.
