As far as I am aware, The Idle Draper pub in Idle village still has the Bone Idle Mens Club on Wednesday evenings, which discusses Men's mental health issues, in comfy and relaxed surroundings

There is absolutely no evidence that Reeves is suffering from mental problems so I wish people would stop taking it as fact. He might have actually just had injury after injury and not depression that is keeping him out.
I'm sure hes been down having been out injured for so long and Gary Bowyer has been getting him involved in the squad as much as possible which is great. Hope he comes back stronger very soon as he will be a very valuable player for us.

If it's not a mental problem and just a recurring injury why doesn't he just come out with it to the fans.

Nice news here in Cyprus. I said on a post ages ago his is a physical injury, made far worse by Rahic's lunatic fitness coach who made him train pre season when he wasn't ready. Jake in good spirits for many a week now. Will run his way back and then perhaps all the medical experts on here will shut up and accept their mentalist theories were wrong.

Oh so he's not depressed then. All you mentalist theorist should have been a bit more respectful of Doctor Hippo's diagnosis.

I guess a little positive PR would be for Jake to have a short interview with Simon Parker or Rhys Howell clarifying the position? I guess that would assist?

Bowyer said on the radio that he's got him involved in the warm up. Not sure whether he meant just in training or on match days.

If it's simply been injuries it would have been clarified, probably on multiple occasions. Absolutely no doubt about it.

Why would the club give us information on all the other injuries and exclude Jake Reeves for nearly 2 years? Honest answer is they wouldn't!

I think wetherbywhaler alludes to the issue here. A situation has arisen where Reeves' camp believes the club (or at least a former employee of the club) are in someway to blame for the lengthy setbacks. I think both parties will be very careful about commenting and would prefer to say nothing if at all possible.

Still not buying it. Rahic has been gone nearly a year, there aren't many injuries that aren't cleared up within 9/10 months of rehabilitation. Especially if the player is actively working to get back fit.

So what is the injury then that's kept him out for nearly 2 years and why wasn't that injury reported?

So is he fully fit now?

Yeah,, so all them saying it was his mental state are wrong then?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_Reeves#Bradford_City

"In January 2018 he suffered a recurrence of a groin injury he first had in November 2017, potentially ruling him out until the end of the season. In August 2018 he was stated to be close to returning to fitness. In November 2018 he was still injured and hadn't appeared played for the club since January 2018. In February 2019, after 13 months of injury, club manager David Hopkin said he was still unsure when Reeves would return to play.] In April 2019 new City manager Gary Bowyer (the fourth since Reeves was injured 15 months before) said he wanted Reeves to play as he would suit his management style. In May 2019 it was announced that Reeves would continue his rehabilitation throughout the summer break, ahead of the 2019–20 season. In June 2019, Bowyer said that he had noticed a more positive attitude from Reeves, and in August 2019 Bowyer said that Reeves' input on footballing matters was beneficial. In September 2019, after 20 months of injury, Bowyer said there was no pressure on Reeves as he continued his rehabilitation."

Doesn't sound like it was all about injury to me. I'm sure Hopkin said he could have played with the injury. He must have been out nearly the same amount of time as Cazorla was.

Being out for so long might have got him down.

Well if it ain’t physical and it ain’t mental there’s not a lot left. Could be on strike, just bone idle or fall out with the various managers that have been and gone. GB has been at pains to put a metaphorical arm round him in all the time he’s been here so I doubt it’s that.

Where did I say it isn't mental?

The only thing I'm ruling out is that it's 100% a physical injury. Everything else is still in play imo.

Maybe it is a virus of some kind, I remember Lee Power arriving with great promise before contracting a virus and having a very long period out of the game and took ages then to build his strength to return to the game,

    Really.

I wonder if the insurance only cover injuries rather than mental state? Serious question

So all the people who say he has mental issues are wrong? I don't know. I have never said either way but I do find it extremely strange Reeves hasn't come out and done an interview and no one really knows what his injury is that's kept him out for nearly 2 years.

Me, I couldn't give a monkey 's . His health is his and the club's business, not mine. Whatever it is, I hope he can finally put it all behind him and resume his career. Whether that's here or elsewhere isn't relevant but I would hope it will be here.

If commenting on stuff that wasn't our business was prohibited it'd be pretty quiet on here.
