What positive waves have come out of the club exactly? You may be in more of a position to see the positives effects of GB’s work. From the perspective of an ‘ordinary’ fan we are going playing next season in the toilet division and the signings so far are hardly awe inspiring. We still have the burden of last years oxygen wasters.
Fans take positivity from the results on the pitch and the position in the league - not from bull crap statements made in the local rag.

I’m not necessarily after ‘awe inspiring’ signings, but let’s face it Port Vales reserve keeper, Accrington squad player, some tall lad from Sudbury combined with the shit from last year doesn’t fill me with confidence.

 

Don't forget contracts don't expire until the end of the month so unless both clubs agree any announcements before will likely be classed as poaching which is a serious offence. In addition many players wait for the June pay cheque before moving, even if they are going to be out of contract. Bit of patience needed here please.

Unfortunately Reeves had been abandoned by the the succession of managers at City over the last season. If the injury is more of a mental issue rather than physical I’m sure that the fan base would have been more supportive if news of the situation had been reported, but the no news situation breeds rumours.

Facts are that we have a player than hasn’t played football for well over a year, add Robinson, for totally different reasons, and you have 2 players that the club have to bring back from the effectively from scratch. Both, you could argue are in situations due to the mismanagement of the club at the highest level. One not gaining the right levels of support & treatment for their injury, the other not receiving the correct guidance to avoid a situation that has affectively killed a career. I’d be surprised if either make a significant impact next season.

 

If Ched Evans can make a return I see no reason why Robinson can't.

 

They may contribute but the bottom line is that the medical reports will still be confidential and no matter how much anyone asks, the info released can always be limited to the bare minimum if the employee requests so.

The way I see it. We build a squad and prepare for a season without Reeves. If he does manage to get back into the picture and becomes available then it’s a bonus but it seems a big gamble for Bowyer to leave a space in our initial squad on the assumption that he will fill it.

 

I believe Bowyer will know what the situation is when the players officially return for training I believe 24th June with regards Jake.
As Reeves is on his last 12 months and Bowyer has introduced him back with a scouting mission and hopefully more on the actual footballing side of things, as you say I don't think we can gamble with anything players or otherwise, as a club we have to show that we can bounce back and build on what was a nightmare 2018/19 season.
