I agree. It would be easy to think Adams remarks on Saturday and what happened yesterday are linked but like you say, it wasn't that Adams singled Crankshaw out, he was asked about him and if he'd been asked about any other player, would probably have said the same thing. I don't know how true this is but I heard last night that apparently, Crankshaws agent has been tweeting about him being unhappy for over a month. If there is some truth to that, the problems have clearly been there long before Saturday.

 

There is nothing in Canavan's history to suggest he has been anything but a model professional. All this talk of rebellion and refusing to play is just crap.

 

And a bloody good manager to say it was his first managerial appointment.

 

Yeah because the offering on the pitch at the moment proves it was right to let him go.....

Are we really firing shots at Ollie Crankshaw who is part of a team who have won 12 of their last 13 games after we have been beaten home and away by Harrogate Town in the space of a few weeks?

 

Baffling. Adams in full control now it’s clear, Sparks has handed over the whole club to one man despite having a vision of a recruitment team and youth coming through.
Let’s hope it works otherwise he goes and we are back to square one again.

I doubt we get much back here other than wages saved. I think we paid a fee for him from Wigan in January anyway. You don’t get much time at city these days. Anyone approaching 12 months is out the door

 

Adams interview said they accepted it after "having received a substantial offer from Stockport which he felt he (Crankshaw) could not turn down".

Better money than we may have valued him at, sounds like Stockport were offering more money, which seems the norm with the big spending NL clubs. He's 24 this season, never had much consistency, pace but small flashes of end product, not getting in the team, no brainer if the bid was good.

 

Dunno, fits in with the rest of this shitshow...

 

This is madness. Crankshaw is a decent player who has plenty of potential. Surely the right man management to get the best out of him is a better option than showing him the door?!

When Stockport are more appealing than us there's something seriously wrong.

That doesnt fit the bash the club narrative. I agree with you, he's become a superstar whilst not playing and when he did he really didn't do much. Better than Gilliead mind, but I don't see it as a massive loss if it means someone else comes in.

One of the marginal players out ready for us doing a "Bolton" in January is the way I see it.

 

For all we know he was lazy in training. He's not set the place alight when he played and if he had left in the summer I wouldnt have been the slightest bit bothered. Another of Turnbull's signings that wasnt up to the fight.

Too early to judge the lad Sparks Fordy. He's making improvements behind the scenes, as for footballing matters you have gone on record as saying you don't think that as CEO he should be anywhere near football related decisions.
And like your goodself Derek Adams says it as he sees it. Early days IMO.

Well I rated Crankshaw above Gillead but what do I know.
From the shit show on Saturday he created our goal where Gillead was invisible the entire game.
I really do think this is going sour very quickly for Adams. Lose or even draw on Saturday and I think the Bowyer treatment from fans is very near.

 

Surprised no one remembers how Adams acted with Kevin Elison too.

i do recall some posters here saying that Stuart was too pally but now Adams is too harsh. Cant have it both ways!

 

The offer might not be on the table come Jan 2nd though. At the end of the day if we receive an offer where we make a profit for a player who has flattered to deceive, who is also struggling to impress the manager, surely it’s a no brainer?

Adam’s comments sound as though the club accepted the offer and it was left to Crankshaw to decide whether he wanted to fight for his place or move on. He’s decided to go, so that’s the end of it.

For the immediate short term not great for Saturday (hoping Vernam is back) however for the longer term (season) is it really a big loss? Did Crankshaw strike you as the level of player and character that is going to turn this rotten form around? Not for me unfortunately........
