Youngsters won’t just improve to the required level because they play games, they have to have the ability to get there as well. That’s where a manager has to make decisions, has this player got what it takes, if it was your job on the line would you play players not ready to improve them for someone else down the line? If Trueman had have stayed in charge then I’d have said fair enough, but it got him sacked so obviously the owner/CEO isn’t prepared to give a manager the time needed to bleed youngsters into the first team. The fault lies with the club not the manager, they have to dictate the philosophy and hire the correct people to see it through. Same with Jose you can’t blame him for everything that went wrong in his time with Untied, he wasn’t the right fit and shouldn’t have been selected in the first place or if you do select him back him 100% and let him get his own players in.

what united did is get rid. It seems we are moulding the club to his needs; letting him get his own players in (in this case rid of) and the scouting/recruitment changes. Personally I believe moulding the club to him is the correct decision but I understand the other side of the coin.

 

The lad hasn't been able to hold a starting place down, he comes off the bench at best, when the guy interviewing Adams says he thought Crankshaw did well when introduced he reply was good I didn't, the writing was on the wall for the kid, whether he was a bad trainer we'll never know but no point in just being a bench warmer unless something changed at Valley Parade that's all he was going to be.

I believe short to mid term it’s the correct thing, we need out of this division as soon as possible if that means youngsters not ready to help take us up leave so be it(not that Crankshaw is even a youngster anymore). If we went down the youth development route I don’t have any confidence under this ownership that it would be reinvested into off field or on field improvements if we made money at all that is. If Adams can do a Parkinson in terms of get us promoted and in the eye of potential buyers I’ll be happy, then hopefully they’ll have a philosophy they are willing to stick to, trust in and invest in. Only then can we think of moving through the leagues as it won’t happen with Rupp in charge, no matter the manager or philosophy Sparks talked of in the summer.

I cant see Ryan trying to work another Head of Football into the club, if Adams didn't want to work along side the Head of Recruitment or what ever his job title was why was Turnbull still here once Adams arrived, or was he prepared to give it a go giving Turnbull names of targets he'd like bringing in but finishing up with Lavery & Robinson.
