You could be right at 34 Clarke is in the twilight of his career and will be wanting to play games, unfortunately it wont be with Bradford City.

Donaldson and Doyle would make a good pairing with plenty of goals

Ideally we’d move on quite a few players in January our squad is bloated especially in midfield - I let any (even all) go from: Akpan, Anderson, Devine, Gibson, Longridge, McCartan, Palmer, Patrick, Taylor.
Say all 9 went we’d need about 4/5 new players and have a squad of 23/4 quality players. Appreciate this won’t happen but we are wasting money on very average squad players

Yeah I agree but also depends on what system we use. Play with a midfield 2 (like most people want in a 442) I don't think you can afford an attacking CM as you are too open. Grant and Reeves would be almost a perfect midfield at this level and I think we'd get more out of Reeves.

2 good signings like Grant and an attacking option for when Donaldson isn't fit, as well as Devitt coming back and I think we are looking strong. Fund it through offloading all the deadwood in the squad - there's about 5 that could go without particularly weakening us. Easier said than done though.

Agreed, Gibson's not bad but hes not particularly good either. Not a player youd want to bring on if we were desperate to change a game. In my opinion we need better. Add him to the list of Devine, Anderson, Akpan Patrick, and Longridge all to get rid of....

This is league 2, i'm not sure the players are good enough to be adaptable, we either throw caution to the wind or we stay hard to beat. We can't just go from having the best defensive record for over thirty years to scoring with impunity. Peterborough currently have this problem, an attack that can tear teams apart but at this moment are leaking goals like a sieve leaks water. As much as i find it hard to watch, this clubs current position is built on its defence and Bowyer knows he can rely on it. Parky did exactly the same. It goes against how i like to watch my football but its effective at this moment. Christ i'm going full thoroughly nice chap.

    Doomed from the start.

I remember being in the baggage claim area of Manchester Airport after coming back from a business trip, going online to the T&A website and reading the story about wealthy German owners buying out Bradford City. I was made up. Seemed like the shot in the arm the club needed to really move it forward. The optimism didn't last long....

A couple of weeks later I was on holiday and by pure chance I bumped into someone I new, who's very well connected at City - particularly at the time. I asked him about the new owners and he told me that their plan was to REDUCE costs at the club, at least in the short term. The playing budget was to be trimmed and he didn't expect Parky to hang around. I was gobsmacked.

As Rahic then spoke, there were elements of what he talked to that sounded great, but it was quickly apparent that the substance around his 'vision' was all fantasy. And then I heard more and more about how people were being treated at the club....

I bumped into Billy Clarke just after he left, shortly after our Play-Off final. He was at the Goals facility next to Hanson school. Our kids were playing in the same competition. I spent 10 mins chatting to him - an absolutely brilliant bloke. He was nearly in tears, told me he hadn't want to leave and that if left unchecked, Rahic would destroy the club beyond repair. Told me other things that horrified me, which I won't share on here.

Didn't Bowyer say he needed 3 transfer windows to have 'his' squad? On that basis not using this one seems a bit of a waste.

If you play Doyle as your intended box man i'm not sure we need one, push Wood up and let him get quick ball in. A lot of Doyles goals come from neat passing into the box rather than hit and hope crosses. Notice Caddis plays high up the field from full back for Swindon.

In order to get the best out of Doyle we might have to risk opening ourselves up a bit. There’s no point having the league’s leading scorer and setting up for a nil nil or even one nil on the break. We need to go for it not silly gung ho but having a lot of possession in their third not ours.

100% this why I feel we are making hard work of the league currently.

Think it's time Bowyer let's the players loose now and let's go for this league.

This. Its not that the players we have aren't capable to a point in their own right, its that together as a squad we lack certain pieces that would bring them together. The right ingredients aren't always available and in our case when attacking it shows. I very much doubt Jake Reeves wants to spend the afternoon passing sideways and backwards, or that James Vaughan wants to chase lost causes for 90 minutes. In football like any sport you play to your strengths.. And at this moment that is being a team thats hard to beat. Try and accommodate something else and you end up with your strong points looking decidedly shaky, our normally solid defence could have conceded 5 or 6 quite easily yesterday. If we want a different approach, be prepared its gonna take different players than what we've got.

Even if we didn't sign anyone, there are definitely a couple I'd be moving on.

What even is a Jermaine Anderson?

I think 4 managers in around 15 months are the reason we have a very lopsided squad. Hard to fix in one window

Can you honestly hand on heart think/feel we would be promoted through the playoffs?? They are cup games effectively, not our forte atm.

Still wouldn't be any use under Bowyer. Need creativity and his teams have none.
