So,

Swindon turn the league's top scorer's loan into a permanent transfer, hand a new long term deal to their 1st choice RB, sign their best midfielder on a permanent transfer and secure the loan of their 2nd top scorer. All whilst making the 2-3 additions to the squad they needed.

Bradford City however, loan out their captain and top scorer, sell the league's top scorer for a lower offer than the initial one because our inept manager can't get a tune out of him, and sign a winger on a short term deal who failed to make a start for a team in the division below. Oh and refused the opportunity to sign their best midfielder on a permanent deal who is available for free.

I'll leave you to figure out which club has genuine ambition and is serious about promotion.

 

Yet we’re still 4th, best home record in the league, most clean sheets since 1984/85 or whatever it is. He seems to be doing alright to me.

In fact in all the years you’ve be coming on City message boards and having a well known reputation of being possibly the most negative City fan ever, I cannot honestly remember you praising any manager we’ve ever had. I think you need to manage your expectations a bit better.

If Bowyer can’t get the best out of Doyle, Vaughan, Reeves, Cooke etc then giving him a larger budget wont make any difference. He’s already got some of the better players in this division but has no idea how to use them.

 

Pointless signing strikers until we start creating chances.

When we start creating chances, we'll find we have better strikers than Yates already at the club.

 

Nathan Delfouneso. 6'2 striker, 4th choice there now maybe 3rd at best. Bowyer signed him for Blackburn and Blackpool. He's not scored a league goal since August, so sounds about right for us.

Give us all a break from your nonsense will you. It was only 30 months ago we were in a playoff final for a place in the championship, all whilst playing entertaining football. Now you’re genuinely saying be happy to be in a playoff place in the league below while being bored to tears?!

 

A "luxury penalty box player".
Next you'll be telling us that Greaves, Law, Clarke, Lineker, Defoe and Cottee were all luxury penalty box players. All scored shedloads of goals for fun, almost all in the penalty area, and many in the six yard box.

None of them played much part in the build up play. That wasn't their job. Their job was to put away chances created by others, by being sharper than the last defender. This is what Doyle does. He has the priceless gift that most clubs give their eye teeth for - being in the right place at the right time to stick it in the net. He doesn't need to 'adapt' because he's the one with the scarce, in-demand skillset. The fact that we have been utterly incapable of utilising those skills in any way, shape or form says much more about us than it it does about Doyle.

 

Signing Novak and Guthrie to replace Vaughan and Doyle is a terrible piece of business. What a joke.

One of the worst January transfer windows I can remember.

 

I'll give you two. There's a rumour Doyle is returning. There's also a rumour he's staying at Swindon.

 

I dont mind keeping Gibson. As long as he's a 7th pick for the bench and never has to play.
