Didn't Bowyer say he needed 3 transfer windows to have 'his' squad? On that basis not using this one seems a bit of a waste.

I agree, yet with the 'squad' we have, and any monies, his hands are somewhat tied. As an opposing Manager - WHICH of our players would YOU put on your 'hit list' ? ................ Yeah - Not so easy to 'ship out', is it ? ;)
We need to ship out, before we can shop - Simple.

Yeah he said that and that means doing more in this window than bringing back a player he let go in the first window. There’s six that can go out, four of our own and two loanees. The problem is midfield where we’ve got quantity not quality. I think we’re okay in other positions.

    'Angry' (Anderson)!!

(looks a bit like Gary Jones on a bad diet)

Something we usually are when watching Akpan and always when watching Anderson

'Suddenly' we'd be very happy indeed if they went :)

    Oh! The wonderful 80's!!

Agpants is not the answer. We need a midfielder who can get about the pitch, put in a tackle and has an eye for a pass. Sadly he has none of these assets. What was Stephen Warnock thinking when he recommended him.

Normally it's 'we're working hard to bring someone in' but so far, quite on that front. I would love to hear that they are working hard at getting players moved on though..possibly more so!

Yeah let’s get out the quantity and bring in some quality.

Best striker in the league rejoins us.
Already have the best defence in the division.
    Already have about 15 midfielders.
Long term absentees Devitt and Donaldson due back. Possibly Riley too.

Nothing much for Bowyer to do this window apart from trim the fat.

Tend to agree but a worry is the type of injury that is affecting Pritchard. We look so much better when he is FULLY fit and the link between attack and defence. A back injury can constantly recur so hope this is not the case with him.

Yeah trim the fat to bring in a nice lean
and hungry midfield general. That’s where we are lacking.

If we are expected to go to a 4-4-2 then no chance he signing another centre midfielder. He would need to rid of us 4/5.

Won't be happening this transfer window. One for the summer and a new campaign.

You might well be right but a lot of time yet for agents to ring up and tempt us. Most deals seem to go through in the last couple of days of the window. Much might depend on how we shape up in the remaining matches this month and if we get any more injuries.

At the moment for me the best four we could string across midfield would be: Connolly, Reeves, Cook and Pritchard. It’s okay but if you could improve the team it would be in this area. There’s Devitt to come back. I feel we need one more, a different more physical type. Just my opinion.

    I'm hoping he sticks with the 5 3 2.

I know most will moan it's a defensive set up but it doesn't have to be. All we need to do is play 10 yards further forward and closer the gaps up to the strikers. It also allows us to play 2 strikers while retaining a 3 in midfield to match up against defensive sides at home and has the added bonus of retaining the width from the wing backs.

Granted we lack a strong right wing back but with O Connor protecting that side we could even utilise a Devitt, Ismael or Connolly there and transition almost into a standard 4 4 2 when in possession.
