That has sent shivers down my spine Grimsby resigning to a relegation battle it seems.

 

Leyton Orient linked with a move for Hanson this morning. Could be Clarke taking Hansons place!

 

Never understood our fans affiliation with Billy Clarke. A bang average player whose ability was always overstated.

If all of the players you mention were to leave, either on loan or permanently it would leave us rather thin on the ground for a promotion run in. We would be very vulnerable in the event of suspensions or injuries. Especially as Devitt, Pritchard, Riley, Donaldson and Mellor are all currently injured, Vaughan is 1 match off a suspension and Longridge is yet to start a league game for us. Not convinced with Henley as left back cover.
I would be happy to see Akpan and Anderson depart and possibly Devine too, but leave it at that unless others come in to replace.

Although the extended contract of Taylor can be regarded as a decent 'squad' signing - I anticipate that HE is about as good as we get this transfer window ..... Now we have Doyle back.
Bowyer may want more - Yet the powers that be will quoting Bowyer saying 'our injury crisis appears to be over, and players are slowly coming back'.
Let's see HOW serious City are about promotion, huh ?

If we could bring in a strong character in midfield, an organiser and enforcer, we would be nicely set up. At the moment we are far too polite in midfield. If we are serious about promotion we’ll find the money for one major signing, and offset it by putting three or four midfielders out on loan or returning to their parent clubs. That master of promotion Neil Warnock always used to strengthen his midfield in January and once took Lee Duxbury off us. We need to be bringing that kind of busy player in.

 

I bet he’s still good at 5-a-side!

 

And could probably beat Hope in a sprint.
