    In order to get the best out of Doyle we might have to risk opening ourselves up a bit. There’s no point having the league’s leading scorer and setting up for a nil nil or even one nil on the break. We need to go for it not silly gung ho but having a lot of possession in their third not ours.

    The play off is a lottery. We don’t want to go there. Automatics have got to be our aim. That’s why we need to be more attack minded. Let the opposition worry about us not the other way round. Recently we’ve had too many draws against poor teams. Now with a more potent goal threat we need to win and wouldn’t it be nice for a change to have a goal bonanza and win by two or three. That’s what breeds confidence and gets everyone on side.

    According to the bookies we are. I got 9/1 at the beginning of the season us being champions. I think it was Plymouth and Crewe after us.

    I'm not sure Bowyer would play with two out and out wingers even if we had two, when was the last time any City manager played two out and out wingers.

    If Anthony O'Connor wasn't so essential at the back - HE would be ideal for that physical holding midfielder, IMO.

    I think if we go with Connolly as a an out and out winger then I can't see us going with an attacking left winger, too open in the middle. Can't wait to see what line up Bowyer goes with.

    Would you rather us finish 8 and not be in a play off position, because I wouldn't, finishing top 3 would be great but if not I'd take a play off spot, as would any right minded Bradford City fan (that's not aimed at you in).

    As much as I prefer Pritchard central he's the only player I can see fitting into a 4-4-2. Could fit well with Wood allowing Wood to get forward.

    With this squad automatics should be a minimum requirement now. Playoffs too much of a lottery.

    I've not disputed that, what I said was "Would you rather us finish 8 and not be in a play off position" I would lottery or not.

    I know, that's my only gripe. To not supply 2 of the best strikers in the league now from out wide and get at teams when we have such a solid defence is criminal

    I thought about that too. To have Wood on the left to predominantly defend but get forward when he can, with Connolly on the right to mainly get forward might provide good balance too. 4 at the back when we need to defend and more up top with width when we attack.

    Obviously not but those are not the two alternatives. You’d take playoffs if that was the best you could get. But at this stage of the season with all the points to be played for we need to aim for the automatics. It’s teams in midfield who are dreaming about sneaking into the mix.
