I agree we need to try and get in the auto's, where we sit in the league at the moment we should be capable of an auto, but if for some reason we don't achieve 1/2/3 then I'll take a play off place.
Teams who will be looking to get into a play off place as you say should be teams sitting midtable now, we need to concrete our position into an auto, I think come the end of January we will have a very good idea of where we will finish, as Bowyer should have most of his squad back champing at the bit.

Madness to tempt fate I know but if Swindon lose to Crewe which must be a possibility and we win at Crawley we are only three points behind the league leaders with a match in hand. Just saying.

I'd suggest with whats going on at Swindon at the moments Crewe are favorites today, presently Crawley are hardly a form team so yes I think Crewe can beat Swindon and we can get 3 points from Crawley.

Did we have two out and out wingers at the start of the season, I would suggest not, even Scannell couldn't get a start.

I think you're probably right. We have one fit CB, who has hardly played all season, and 2 fit midfielders, one of whom is forced to play in defence. A point would be a good result for us today. Having said that, Wellens is known for being 'economical with the truth.

We'll be patched up by the end of the window, though, with or without Doye.

This match has somehow assumed huge significance far beyond the three points at stage. It almost seems like one of those watershed moments. Let’s hope we’re not disappointed.

Yep that feels like a kick in the teeth all right and much worse than just three points lost. This was going to be the start of our inexorable climb up to the top but now we find ourselves nine points shy of Swindon. Bowyer said he’d need three windows. I suggest he gets cracking in this one. Get rid of at least four and bring in two to genuinely strengthen us. And I mean strengthen. We’re lightweight in midfield. ( Akpan is the only one with the physique for it and sadly he doesn’t normally punch his weight.)

Akpan should be like Akinfenwa, a player everyone wants to avoid but sadly he is a lightweight who cannot or will not put himself on the line. Not on his own tho when it comes to putting your body on the line for the team.

The middle of the park yesterday for City was diabolical. Reeves, back from 2 years out, then hailed as the messiah, has a fantastic gift of being able to look incredibly busy by doing very little. His hair flicks and short sprints result in picking the ball up in space then ALWAYS taking the easy option of a pointless sideways pass or a negative move backwards. Theres no fear of him getting on the ball looking forward, carrying the ball into an attacking position and no way would we get a through ball from him for attackers to run on to.

In Palmer, we have the same apart from he doesn't look half as busy.

We have a relatively good defence, a striker line up that most L2 managers would die for, but no midfield to knit any of it together. Too many substandard midfielders on the books now and if Bowyer doesn't make the necessary moves in this window (the next 3 weeks) to get rid of some of the chaff, and enhance the squad to get us promoted with the budget hes got to work with then he has to go for me....

We can't play a 2 man central midfield with the player at our disposal, they simply aren't good enough. Reeves did look good when came back but has succumbed to the levels of the rest of the team. No matter which way we set up we always look better set defensively. The only time we've looked half decent was with a 4-2-3-1 when the right players were available. Anything else we've played we've just looked plain average.
