For anyone who's interested - or simply unaware given that the mass media have given it next to no mention - today is the anniversary of the D Day landings. One of the greatest feats of bravery and sacrifice in human history, when hundreds of thousands of men, of all colours, came together to give every single person in this country the privilige of living in a free democracy.

If there'd been a mass remembrance I wonder whether the police would've stood back and allowed it, or how many celebrities would've turned up? Probably none, not great for the retweets or likes tbf....

The narrative could be so much more uplifting, so much more empowering, so much more cognizant of the progress made on diversity, inclusion and equality during the last 20 years. Instead, the narrative is creating division, misrepresenting the facts, forcing a message of victimisation and blame that will only erode areas of society.

 

The police are guarding the statue of Desperate Dan in Dundee amid reports that a raging mob of Vegans tried to tear it down last night but did not have the energy.

 

An example of what I give to be the hypocrisy on display. Skynews and BBC are reporting on an 'attack on 2 police officers'.

It's not the main story, the video isn't included and no mention of race is made. The video is below.

The footage shows a gang of 5 black men violently attacking a white police office, taking much joy in the process. A black female office attempts to intervene. Her hands are pushed. No other obvious physical violence in display towards her.



Now imagine the races of all involved are reversed. Imagine the outcry, the rioting, the rage. 5 white men attack a black police officer. A white police officer intervenes and receives only mild retaliation.

So I'll say it. Whilst this is primarily an attack on the police, its also racially motivated.

This country, I genuinely think, is in for very dark times in the coming months.

 

The point of history is that we learn from it. We can't change it by re-writing it, or removing parts of it. It should be taught, in context as a tool for improving our future.

 

It's pandering for votes.

Everything I see at the minute tells me that we're only going to create a more divided, polarized society. Its not good.

 

BLM is a marxist, political movement. It has very little to do with ending racism - and displays many racist notions itself.

 

Can someone explain why The Met have apologised to the British runner who was in a car that was stop and searched? The referred it to their internal standards watchdog who found nothing wrong, not once but twice, and have now referred it to the IPCC, so why apologise before the investigation. So far the officers have been shown not to have done anything wrong.

 

For it to have been a higher degree, I think premeditation would have had to be established. The charge looks right.

What does the killing of a US citizen by a US police officer have to do with the number of black people in top jobs in this country? The racial history in the US and the UK are very different. We've never been a less racist country than we are now. Any instances of racism are generally taken very seriously. But I think the whole approach to 'equality' is being warped now - people are being divided and categorized more than ever. Terms like 'black lives matter' don't help. They emphasise race. All lives matter.

 

It was first started by the San Fransisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in response to police brutality of black people. It was a bold and selfless move by a guy who hasn't had a job offer since he has done it despite being good enough to be cover for a lot of teams needing a back up quarterback. Have a google of it, its a really interesting story of a guy who has effectively thrown away his career over something he feels is more important than American football. Very brave guy, far braver than the celebs now desperately searching for likes and retweets off the back of needless death of a black man.

 

The very faces of those people screaming to hold Dominic Cummings to account are the sort that will either be at Hyde Park or ones encouraging this sort of feckwittery. Kinda sums it all up really.

Why are we digging up 15-20 year old shows to have a go at? It’s all about moving forward isn’t it? And educating? Eventually there will be nothing left on the tv as everything offends someone. Be it sexism racism homophobia. Comedies and jokes are just that. Why do we need to cleanse everything? Even these kids doing the kneel on their mates neck. A very ill informed joke but who didn’t mess about like that as a kid? There was just no camera around.

As I say, the mentality of many of these people is now being laid bare. It's not about equality, or peace, or unity. It's just c*nts being c*nts.

An interview with a black guy on Sky News. Some of what he said he was protesting about didn't make sense to me but hes just said 'I've seen a police officer knocked off his horse by someone throwing a bottle, that's not why we're here'. I'm afraid for many, it is. The angry without understanding SJW types, those who dont understand the facts behind the narrative they believe. This is the result of identity politics and the false representation of what's actually happening in the world by the media.

Again, an interview with a white woman whose protesting 'in America black people are afraid to leave their homes for fear of being killed so I'm not afraid of leaving my house for fear of the covid virus to give my support'. You what? That's the mentality and misunderstanding.

I foolishly got drawn into a Facebook exchange in support of my daughter who tried to post a balanced view of police treatment in this country. One of the replies by a 16 year old who was chipping in 'police statistics are a social construct.' I shit you not. And that's not uncommon with the youth of today.

I'm genuinely fearful for the future of this country, and many others, over the next few years.

None of what we're seeing will achieve equality where it doesnt exist, and I dont think that's what it's actually about anyway

 

Just an excuse for thugs to gather and cause trouble. The vast majority of law abiding citizens in this country will be on the side of the police.

These thugs are that thick, they don't realise any sympathy or support for the so called BLM campaign will evaporate and backfire on them

 

Strange that if the UK and USA are so bad to live in why we have to fight people off who want to come and live here with years of mass immigration

 

Reminds me of the celebs who stated they were leaving if the country voted for Brexit. I do hope they had a safe journey.

 

I think there was an inevitability to where this scenario has ended up. What started as a protest against the needless death of an unarmed man incapable of defending himself turns into the divide and conquer situation that politicians love. As Hoochy alluded to, while the minnions at the bottom fight over who's got the moral right to be more offended, the ones at the top know their subtle work is done. People burning down their own communities, slogans daubed on war memorials, short term thinking that does little to change the lives of those affected in the long term.
