It only stood out to me because I've seen a few of his YouTube clips. He talks a lot of sense when it comes to race.

 

It was rather confusing he looks very similar . This though sums up the hypocrisy surrounding the BLM movement , this guy is black he as served his country then gets butchered in the street and his death posted all over social media . No MSM outrage , no protests , no nothing it beggers the question do BLM ?. They build a career criminal up into the new Messiah , a man jailed for armed robbery and assault on a pregnant women , yet a man whos done nothing but help his community is cast away and forgotten about .

 

Evidently black lives only matter if they're taken by the police or a white person. As explained in a factual, data evidenced manner by Larry Elder.

Nope, you're certainly not the only one. Partly, I suppose, it stems from the general agreement that we do not speak ill of the dead, but the current treatment has gone far beyond that. I would be a lot more sympathetic if there was proof that he had turned his life around, and had abandoned, completely, the criminal lifestyle suggested by his record.

This record, from Texas and of a man with the same name, can be found on the web. It seems certain that it is the same man. The record shows a history of petty crime: drugs, theft, trespass, culminating in a big step up to the armed robbery you mention, and for which a plea bargain of 5 years in prison was agreed upon (so I've read elsewhere). After that, nothing further, though trying to pass counterfeit money now suggests that he either wasn't rehabilitated, or something now had made him go back to criminality. If there were indeed various drugs in his system, then that would be one explanation.

I don't think it is going too far to say, that if *all* we had to go on was that X, with such a record, had died, the general response would be "good riddance!" However, we know so much more, and that makes a difference. BUt I share your unhappiness with the current mythologisation of the man in some circles.

Another round of protests and marches in England today in response to this. Anyone else think these protests are starting to become the same and just lose the effect they are hoping for?

seems we have a new one every month COVID aside.

 

I dont know what it is that they're protesting for. Seems like mass gatherings are allowed now though, if it's for a social or political cause.

 

I am pretty sure that the phrase banded by family and friends of 'Gentle Giant' will not be shared by the poor woman he held up at gunpoint

 

Just a couple of signs from todays protest:

'Stop Police Brutality'. We dont have a problem with police brutality in this country.

'We demand Change. We demand Justice'. What change? Justice for what or who? George Floyd? Justice is in progress.

What the f*ck are these people protesting for or against?

 

This is the face of modern Britain , Shelby Alawani , telling off british army cadets for cleaning graffiti of war memorials . This poor little rich girl went viral . she's lost her job - she's disappeared from all social media , but she's had her 15 mins of fame all over the world . Hope her family and friends are really proud of her . Is this really whats happening world over ? Anti- facist , but defaceing memorials for the real freedom fighters who paid the ultimate price to give her and those like her the freedom to protest in London over something not in anyway relevent in the UK .

For anyone who's interested - or simply unaware given that the mass media have given it next to no mention - today is the anniversary of the D Day landings. One of the greatest feats of bravery and sacrifice in human history, when hundreds of thousands of men, of all colours, came together to give every single person in this country the privilige of living in a free democracy.

If there'd been a mass remembrance I wonder whether the police would've stood back and allowed it, or how many celebrities would've turned up? Probably none, not great for the retweets or likes tbf....

 

Because she's was an Hi - flyer in a Prestigeous company , she was appointed in January and the company used social media etc to say welcome aboard etc etc , since this was broadcast she's had a detrimental impact with their call centre being swamped with complaints , her company also did a lot for forces charities .

 

Watching skynews and its carnage in london. The reporter on the ground... 'the crowds here are very antagonised by the presence of the media, being very volatile towards us and we keep walking away for our own safety'. Tells you everything about the mentality and agenda of those protesting. Some shocking scenes of provocation towards the police too.
