I saw the video and it was shocking. Regardless of the skin colour to kneel on someones neck like that is inhumane.

His wife has filed for divorce.

That guy is a dead man walking IMHO.

He will have to spend his time in prison in complete isolation. There will be so many inmates ready to take him out at the drop of a hat.

If/ when he gets out he will be looking over his shoulder every second.

EDIT: all of the officers involved should be brought to book. The arrogance of them is astounding. The one with the knee on the neck who drew his mace to spray the people shouting to him to remove his knee.

The Murder of this poor guy was terrible and ALL the police involved should be arrested . The aftermath though is terrible , rioting - looting and arson are being disrespectful to this mans memory , trying to claim the " moral highground" then burning the city to the ground is wrong

As @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart posted the other day what's happening in Minneapolis is a reaction to the death of George Floyd's, I'm sure it was originally but the momentum of the cities feral society are now in control.
All the police officers are complicit with their actions in that incident they can't possibly disagree the force used was acceptable.

All the police involved are as guilty as sin, but for fooks sake why would you destroy your own neighbourhood to make that point...?
Would the same happen the next time a black person murders a white person..?

Some now gathering in London to criticise the situation in Minneapolis, they seem to have selective memories, why no outrage with regards the killing of people in China, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India the list is endless, human rights in many countries are no more that lip service.

Yesterday afternoon there was a peaceful demonstration in Nashville, attended by the mayor and other leaders. When the BLM protests kicked off a few years ago, civil leaders and police organized protests. Including the group going on the interstate and stopping traffic for a while. The point I'm making here is that Nashville has a history of peaceful protests. Sadly last night it went off the rails. Some leaders have mentioned out if town troublemakers, who knows but it has no place anywhere. I can't connect protesting a very justified grievance to looting and setting fire to a "western boot" store.
My big concern about the George Floyd situation was the apparent disconnect between the attorney general, the Police union and the mayor. The mayor fired all the police as soon as the videos came to light. The Police union took the "don't rush to judge, all is not as it shows on the videos" line. I guess the attorney general was playing golf or something but he finally had the main guy arrested The governor lwas also really pissed off that it took so long for the arrest to be made . I think it will stay bumpy for a while but I also think that in some places we will still see peaceful protests. The problem now is the violent protests that are nothing to do with the point being protested

They tried peaceful protest, but it got them nowhere. I don’t like what’s happening, but I don’t blame them...In our country we just accept the authoritarian rule, as if those ‘above’ us should be somehow outside the law, then keep voting in the same idiots who facilitate it. We’re just a bunch of servile morons. At least they’re sticking up for themselves.

What is there for them to protest against, a guy was murdered and the perpetrators arrested, happens in major cities all over the world almost every day of the week, I truly despair of some of the people I share this planet with...

I didn't realise the guy who had his knee on the throat of George Floyd was an ex cop I thought he was a serving officer at the time ?.

I thought the reference to him being an ex policeman was because he had been sacked but it seems not.

Why would an ex policeman be allowed to stay and participate in the arrest aftermath.

Surely he should have been thanked and moved away from the scene.

Thats added a whole new level to this.

You were right with your first thought. He was a Police Officer when he killed him. He is now an ex-Police Officer after being sacked. Therefor they charged an ex-officer with murder.

I can see both sides of this, its quite clear the US has a problem with racism in law enforcement that has been covered up for decades. In an ironic way, the same scenario we have in this county with grooming gangs. Again, depends what your agenda is i guess.

I think the problem was originally they didn’t think anything would happen. They didn’t think the copper would get sacked or even arrested.

It's crazy, I do not know but what percentage of U.S.A cops are black...20/30% at a guess, the rioting is just against authority and this they think gives them an excuse...
