When I’ve bought a product no matter what it is I’ve never considered the ethnicity of the people providing it, nor would I ever. I’ll buy something if I want it not because of who makes it, Black people aren’t charity cases. People should use their business if it’s worth using, no other reason.

 

If I go to Shimlas for a kebab I don't think 'ooh there's a white kebab shop down the road, I'll use that.' Same when I was in Berlin at a Turkish kebab house, I didn't go round looking for a white run takeaway.

 

What about when you want a kebab an your in Burnley?

This whole blm thing does make me fearful about where it's being led.
Black lives do matter, obviously. All lives matter, obviously. All life should matter equally to everyone. When you look at black on black killings the percentage is large and it makes you wonder about whether life matters at all. It's an uncomfortable notion at the moment but shouldn't black lives matter to black people?
I get the brought up in poverty bit but when you see the proportion of single mum's in the black community it kind of creates poverty. There's no doubt that a single mum with one or more kids is going to struggle financially when the other half of the parental responsibility is absent and not contributing. Whether from legal or illegal means you don't know if the dad is in poverty or not, I suspect in many cases probably not. There are a lot of uncomfortable questions to be addressed by all sides otherwise there can be no meaningful debate and that will just mean more resentment and more division. The media and people in general are scared of a proper, honest and equal debate for fear of this hysterical racism accusation. There are plenty of racists and it's abhorrent, but they're not all on one side of the fence. Until all sides can safely thrash out the issues it's not going to change. The problem with bigots is they won't learn but their kids might. It is better than the 60s and 70s when stuff that was ok then makes me feel sick to the stomach now, but it's slow unfortunately. I don't think this current movement will in it's present form do anything other than put things back not forward.

Not allowed , people like Anthony Joshua and Lewis Hamilton are promoting this idea . So if somebody said ok fine with that , but the day after every white person in the country boycoted black owned shops and services their would be uproar .

 

Thing is, i understand the concept of black lives matter as opposed to white lives matter, the concept coming off the back of how black people are percieved to be treated unfairly by US law enforcement. And that it brings to attention the history of people of black afro carribean descent and their struggles. Where i become suspicious of the aims of the movement are example like today of Black pound day. Because it undoes all the good being done by the protests by sending out the wrong messages which in turn is a form of racism within itself.

 

Well I have certainly been doing my bit for BPD been in three shops today and not one owned by a white person.

 

Now its those nasty racist banking establishments that are oppressing the blacks.

 

Is there ANY evidence to substantiate her claim? Its nonsense. Banks will lend to anyone they think they'll profit from. These myths and mistruths are being peddled without challenge.

 

#BLM hijacked by the Antifa and Momentum, where have we seen this before.....

 

BLM is a marxist, political movement. It has very little to do with ending racism - and displays many racist notions itself.

 

But will it? Theres a genius at play here. They've fused together a noble aim to tackle racism, with a much broader social and political agenda. So people cant criticise or oppose the wider aims of BLM without being closed down as racist, putting their jobs and in some cases their safety at risk.

 

No one in the political establishment or media will open the debate up though. In fact, the narrative and position being taken by the media is doing the opposite. Its shutting down any attempt at a different perspective.

The election results in the US later this year are going to be very, very interesting.
