Bringing a company into disrepute is in anybody’s book a sackable offence so anybody doing it should expect the consequences

 

I'm not disagreeing about this specific case Park. It's very public, and the lie of the land is that companies are now obliged or compelled to show their moral values. My concern is much broader. I wouldn't sack an employee for their opinions or actions unless they broke the law. It's all very messy but theres an air of 'you can work here, as long as you tow the line and believe what we believe '. Forget this case, if the notion of sacking people for legal, if distasteful actions is acceptable - where is the line drawn, and who draws it? It's why I've retired my facebook and social media accounts. Not worth it. I wouldnt post anything inflammatory anyway, but as I say, people are now being sacked for posting views that I wouldnt consider controversial. Did you see the case of the LA Galaxy player sacked for what his WIFE posted on Twitter, despite the player himself distancing himself from the comments and apologising for them? I keep saying it - slippery slope. It should have us all looking over our shoulder.

 

A Cambridge Professor Priyamvada Gopal , has been taken to task because on her twitter feed she said, " I will repeat it yet again White lives dont matter " . A petiton to get her removed from the university has been called out for being racist towards her , Cambridge university have defended her right to " free speech " . Hypocrisy . Like @Faithful Bantam said teachers and tutors should set an example , not indoctrinate their own thoughts into educational establishments . This lady was born in India 1 of the the current worst offenders in the world with regards Slavery and poverty and of course the caste system , supporters have said she is correct with her tweet , also she is right when she calls for the " Abolition of whiteness " whatever thats supposed to mean .

I've seen on BBC news just now the reporter showing pictures of smashed policed cars and calling them unverified media clips. It's like they don't want to admit or report on what has just happened.

Watch this then see how football fans are treat on a Saturday afternoon. Also look at the difference in media coverage between this video and any sort of trouble at a football game. The whole thing stinks.

Its the media and social narrative the whole thing that irks me most. There are genuine social/economic/racial issues to tackle, some of which do place some black communities in the most vulnerable place. But there's no balance to it. And there ARE issues within some black communities that need to be tackled head on. Stuff like the clip above - that's just scandalous, its nothing to do with oppression, its just down right animalistic. Its a completely lopsided debate. In fact it isn't even a debate. I understand why the 'White Lives Matters' banner attracted so much ire, but its been given more media air time and coverage that the stabbing to death of 3 white people at the weekend. And just look at Sky's coverage. 'Street Party'. Its a f*****g riot!

 

Coppers keep on bending their knee to them and they're bound to see it as a weakness, as do all of us....

 

They’re scum just like the far right Tommy followers, nothing more then a different side of the same coin. Time to get tough with people who protest in a violent nature. Shove them all in the same prison and let them talk about their 5 minutes of fame going against the authorities to their hearts content.

I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Employees have certain rights and companies can't usually dismiss an employee without a valid reason.
