I may well be wrong, but I am sure @RonnieBrown@RonnieBrown has health issues, which may impact upon his mobility. Irrespective of Ronnie, it is perhaps worth bearing in mind, that not all supporters are in ‘rude health’!

Would we get 17000 home fans regularly if the prices were standard rather than reduced? Im honestly not convinced that we'r would.

So a smaller ground, with less subsidised tickets could in effect, provide its with just the same, if not a better level of income

Don't worry guys it ain't gonna happen, unfortunately it took a disaster to get us a new ground and a visionary to make it even better.

    That's North Parade.

Look at all these clubs who have fancy, purpose built grounds/hubs. Totally devoid of any atmosphere. Proper football grounds are normally located in shithole, urban locations, and it's part and parcel of having a city with a football club. I'm very proud that Valley Parade is located where it is.

If we're going down the route of having a football ground relocated for "ease of parking/getting home", then I'm going to start campaigning for Vegan products at half time.

This has to be a joke?

We want the club to progress but we want them to remain the same?

I don’t think the Odsal build is anything other than a slow week column filler but where City need to be (and in my view it’s not VP) in 5/10/15 years really needs to be discussed without all the nonsense about ‘proper football grounds’.

Skint so let's put speed cameras up everywhere to try generate money.

Bradford Council are a joke! They had chances to improve Bradford but sat on their lazy behind.

Problem with the world is everyone thinks about themselves and under Boris is going to get worse.

I presume they come to a mutually amicable agreement as both parties need each other. There is no viable alternative for City and without City the ground itself itself has no purpose.

I do recall it. And I also recall that his empty threats had no effect at all on the negotiatons of the VP lease! It was simply posturing on his part.

Once he realised this, the spotlight was turned towards the lease on the office block, shop and car park and I believe he and JR did a good deal on that to buy-out the lease which allowed them later to sell what was the shop and ofices for the One in a Million school.

Sorry to point out the obvious here m8 but new stadiums cost tens of millions even at the cheap end. I'd love to see another option on the table, this being a new stadium, but it will never happen. Valley parade is more than adequate for a club with no real aspiration beyond living season to season, its capacity is more than enough and the corporate facilities, despite looking shabby and run down, more than covers demand. If you want to see decent corporate facilities take a trip to Headingley for the cricket or rugby. Great experience.

All this is common knowledge. But i can guarantee you the council will not get involved, they are potless. We are a league 2 club living on the back of a large number of cheap season tickets. There is no magic money tree, no mystical sheik looking to find oil under Valley Parade. We have to accept that unless some crazy dingbat with more money than sense comes along, or a guy with a radical future outlook for Bradford as a city and a football club, then this our lot. Cheap affordable football, an alternative if you can't afford premier league prices.

I guess it would need all parties involved to want to buy in to the concept first and foremost. I remember when Huddersfield moved to what was called Kirklees stadium, we visited it a few times as part of our construction course. They sold Leeds road off to developers for what was the site of the new B & Q. If i recall it began as a three sided stadium and cost 16 million and was built by MacAlpine. i think they got 4 million for their old ground. By coincidence i was parked nearby yesterday for work, It still looks a modern innovative design, as it was at the time, not like some of the horrible box type grounds that were built afterwards. Walking distance from the city centre as well, has been used for other things like semi finals and concerts.
I personally would love to see something like it in Bradford, my worry is there is just no justification for it. The Bulls are all but finished in what is a declining spectator sport and City have a facility that for the foreseeable future and for some time beyond fulfils their needs. Long term it probably doesn't help either club but since when has Bradford ever had any long term future at anything?

You are not building a stadium at the top of Westgate. Stop this madness now. Bloody teachers.

There is something in this but would make little difference at places like Huddersfield. I've been there countless times, never once have i thought the atmosphere was poor due to the stadium design. I thinks its due more today with how football has changed in this country to what it is now. Seating, higher prices, more of an emphasis on the corporate customer, less seats available for away fans at bigger clubs. Look at old grounds like Selhurst Park and Fratton Park, not designed with any sound retaining in mind but renowned for brilliant atmosphere because of the fans.

These long term visions can take years, especially when looking at the finance situation. Take Luton Town for example, in dire need of a new ground and have done for years, the plans have been in place for a fair few years now but they still haven't nailed down how to pay for it, from what i remember they need the finance from another development to push the stadium plans forward. The next lease is huge in the future of the club, get tied down for another 25 years and i won't ever see a new stadium built in Bradford, the bulls will more than likely be extinct and the area of Manningham and Bradford won't have changed one bit. Part of me still yearns for a new stadium in Bradford despite the reservations as i'm not sure long term where sport goes in Bradford without one. My head says it will never happen mind.

Bradford Council is skint. It's still reeling from a decade of budget cuts. In this situation it has to focus on its priorities, such as social care, refuse collections etc. It doesn't have a spare £50m knocking around to finance a grand sporting scheme that primarily benefits a very small proportion of the local population.

Those seats are unused anyway and the pitch does need doing. That said the bulls bring nothing to the table, not being a super league club i very much doubt they would get near what City or Gibb would be asking for rent. Problem with the bulls, the council and the RFL is they've known the Odsal situation for a long time but instead of having constructive talks aimed at a workable solution they've buried their collective heads in the sand to a point where the only option was to take the club out of town. And to come out with the joke of a statement about Richard Dunns lol. City don't have to even give then the time of day, unless the Bulls were coming to Valley Parade cash laden to pay for the rent and the improvements its a non starter.
