Two trains, I'm out. Nobody in that area likes football. Would benefit the Bulls but not City. An 18000 seater would be suicidal. We were getting more than that at the top end of League 1.

It depends how you look at it. Add in the many who use local buses, because they run close to the ground; also, with some marketing / deals, numbers using both rail and bus could be easily increased in the current location, then City's current location, at Valley Parade, does offer excellent public transport growth possibilities.

It is probably worth looking at the effects of moving to new out of town grounds for other clubs. Many have struggled after the initial interest wore off, especially those with poor public transport links.

IF City were based in 'Central Bradford', I daresay many would travel by train. Easy from Skipton, Keighley, Bingley Shipley etc. I KNOW I would. OFF the train, very quickly followed by some decent grub and a pint, with just minutes to the ground. A bonus being no parking fees or wondering if YOUR car was 'done in' this week. Further - NO rush to get home, have another meal and pint, without having to drive. The footfall to Bradford could be enormous :)

It's 10 minutes walk from Forster Square. If you don't get the train now then you probably aren't interested in coming by train anyway.

It's not 1950 when there was a clear divide between Avenue/City boundaries. These days there's plenty of City fans in Wibsey, Odsal and all the surrounding areas.

It might be 10 minutes for you ...... It's all about convenience, I suppose. Having Football, good food, great choice of drinks and the social atmosphere within one 'hub' is just too much to bear, for some huh ?

It's 10 minutes for any able bodied and reasonably fit person. If you aren't able bodied or extremely unfit then how likely are you to get the train anyway?

How much closer would you like the station, perhaps one that drops you right at the turnstile?

I would like us to move stadium. Valley Parade is in an absolute dump of a location, full of undesirables looking to break into cars and the parking and access is an absolute nightmare. VP itself is shabby, rundown and looks unfinished.

An 18,000 stadium at Odsal isn't the answer and I am not sure what is. All I know is if Man City can leave Maine Road, Arsenal can leave Highbury etc then we can leave VP in order to progress and improve our future.

I am not sure what makes VP so special because lets face it, we have some horrendous memories there and the vast majority of our history is in L1 and L2.

Thought the council were not allowed to put money into "private" clubs.Thats always been their excuse in the past when City needed money.

Been trophies galore since doubling their attendances and improving facilities.

In respect of ‘essential’, this may help you.

“In order to influence travel behaviour it is imperative that the future needs of a community are considered and captured through good quality planning before infrastructure is put
in place. Destination analysis and planning software will enable developers to predict travel behaviour and trip generation. This should ensure that, from inception to maturity, appropriate sustainable travel choices can be provided both within and beyond Growth Points and Eco-towns.
Opportunities must be taken within the planning process to make cycling, walking and public transport the modes of choice. Theses modes must be made more convenient for the majority of journeys than car usage, in order to promote genuine modal shift. They should be supported by the necessary management and regulatory measures (e.g. Traffic Regulation Orders)”. https://laqm.defra.gov.uk/documents/sustainabletransnew.pdf

I may well be wrong, but I am sure @RonnieBrown@RonnieBrown has health issues, which may impact upon his mobility. Irrespective of Ronnie, it is perhaps worth bearing in mind, that not all supporters are in ‘rude health’!

Okay I’ll move away from figures neither of us can prove. Let me put it another way m8, if we got to the championship could we get regular attendances over 18k? If the answers yes then it’s stupid too build an 18k stadium unless you have no ambition of getting too that level again.

Just too add them attendances may not of all been over 18k but that’s around the amount of season tickets sold. Then factor in having to have a portion of match day tickets plus room for away fans and segregation and we could probably only sell 14k season tickets which we’ve done this season, as others have stated it’s a stupid idea to build one so small.

I agree, so unless there's a train station right outside of the turnstile (which it's rare) they'll be travelling by car. My point is that the station is about as close as it gets so suggesting more would get the train, including himself, if it was more convenient is stretching it!

Would we get 17000 home fans regularly if the prices were standard rather than reduced? Im honestly not convinced that we'r would.

So a smaller ground, with less subsidised tickets could in effect, provide its with just the same, if not a better level of income

    Cloud. Cuckoo. Land.

The majority of people always have and always will use cars because public transport in this country is a disgrace.

If they somehow magically get to the level of public transport on the continent then fine, it's with debating but there's about as much chance of that happening as the 80000 seat Odsal Superdome.

Or better still have a 25,000 seater with cheaper football whilst bringing in the same income but potentially more through marketing and outsourcing food etc revenue streams, I know which sounds better too me. And it’s not going up to Odsal thankfully it’s already been called nonsense so it’s irrelevant.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not wholeheartedly saying we should definitely move to Odsal. I'm just not dismissing it out of hand simply because I live on a certain side of Valley Parade.

I think the club has a responsibility to the fans to consider all options regarding stadia, especially because we don't own ours.
