You clearly never been to to Sliverstone to watch F1 then?

Other motor races happen over the weekend not just F1. All levels mate. He will be there, big money is paid to race on the track.

Basically, it's a motor racing weekend.

Ha ha yeah don't know how he gets in there.

Ok, think during your time was mostly the local business man with cash that owned football clubs.

Now, mega rich people buy football clubs and even clubs like Bradford.

Problem with Bradford City its always we can't do.. no one wants to buy a can't do... we need to be more positive!

The City as a whole acts downbeat.. people might as well be on The Walking Dead.. it's like come on! Bradford has a lot going for it but Bradford Council are a DISGRACE! Lazy organisation!

It’s not us you need to convince it’s the mega rich guy wherever he is.

Well for racing fans they may remember
a very successful saloon car racing icon
Gerry Marshall and he would make
Stefan look like a dwarf !

I am not sure where you have come up with the figures Trevor, but the annual lease figure was £370,000 in 2011. So over 25 years £9,250,000. However I think the amount was determined by the ‘tier’ City were playing at, so it may well be slightly different. Also I am not sure if there is an inflation calculation increase, in the annual fee. Perhaps @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler can help with the figures.

The lease started at £300k pa way back in 2003 although we paid nothing for the first year. There are pre-determind inflationary increases every 5 years and the current annual payment is now over £400k pa. Further increases are scheduled before the lease ends in 2028 and it will exceed £500k by then. The lease isn't dependent on which division we are in at the time.

The initial annual rent may have been £370,000 in 2011 although not sure of your figures but was a self repairing lease and subject to rent upward reviews every 5 years, As far as am aware these averaged 13% each five year period resulting now in a lease of around £400,000 per annum, By the time the lease matures it will be approaching to half a million a year and I assume the new lease if entered in to would be a similar deal

Bradford Council is skint. It's still reeling from a decade of budget cuts. In this situation it has to focus on its priorities, such as social care, refuse collections etc. It doesn't have a spare £50m knocking around to finance a grand sporting scheme that primarily benefits a very small proportion of the local population.

I worked with a guy who loved going around the world watching F1 he used to say me what do you see in 11 men chasing a pigs bladder around a football pitch, I'd say and I don't get what you see as a car goes past you at 200+ miles an hour, so yes you are clearly correct I've never been to Silverstone.

I'll have to Google Gerry Marshall I've never heard of the guy unfortunately.

Jack Tordoff was a handy rally driver I believe in his day ?.

I believe Roger Owen said the rent is reviewed periodically, which might be every 5 years.

I would think seeing it for the first time would give you a rush, but each to their own.

Point was..............it's be daft for the club to move further away from it's fan base. The ST post code sales clearly showed that our support was mainly drawn from North Bradford, and our support will continue to move that way, if it can afford to.

It'll never happen in my lifetime but the club needs to follow the money....along the Aire Valley, simultaneously away from competition too, it's blindingly more obvious now as it was to Jack Tordoff way back in 1985!

Shipley to Bingley area, isn't Keighley the biggest town in the UK to not have a decent level local football team?
