Downtown Basra is probably preferable to Manningham on a night match. Odsal isn't great but I've never felt part of a wacky races episode trying to negotiate my easy from the ground.

Exploring the idea of playing at City, they reckoned the cost of improvements to VP were around £1.5m for a new pitch and to remove the front 7 rows of the Kop.

Those seats are unused anyway and the pitch does need doing. That said the bulls bring nothing to the table, not being a super league club i very much doubt they would get near what City or Gibb would be asking for rent. Problem with the bulls, the council and the RFL is they've known the Odsal situation for a long time but instead of having constructive talks aimed at a workable solution they've buried their collective heads in the sand to a point where the only option was to take the club out of town. And to come out with the joke of a statement about Richard Dunns lol. City don't have to even give then the time of day, unless the Bulls were coming to Valley Parade cash laden to pay for the rent and the improvements its a non starter.

An 18,000 seater at Odsal isn’t good enough. It needs to be at around 25,000 and near the City centre, near the existing (though, not brilliant) infrastructure. A stadium out of the way, where folk just drive in and out, brings absolutely nothing to the City.

Couldnt think of anything worse for City than moving to Odsal. Doubt I would renew ST, just the odd match for me if it were to happen, which I very much doubt anyway.

Nice big area on Valley Road opposite ACW garden centre, used to be known as Clock House playing fields.

The move "limiting" us is a load of bull. Our fan attendances always paint a false amount of "fans", while prices are what they are and if we did escape L1 in the future, there isn't a hope in hell we could afford a capable squad on ST prices fans have become a custom to. Even when the club had £179 season tickets a few season back in L1, we were getting around 13/14 thousand fans at the gates. We dropped back to £149 and suddenly it's up to 17/18 thousand.

But this story rears it's head every other year with a potential Odsal big stadium, especially while Bulls couldn't afford their share it's just a none starter and pipe dream of the council. Better idea would be the council and the clubs trying to build a new more state of the art sports and training facilities centre and both out of sharing school facilities (think the Bulls still use Tong school? They did a few year back).

Whilst acknowledging it will never happen because this city is all talk and no action. I think a move there would rejuvenate this club. Taking the burden of close on 500k a year rent of our backs and the insurmountable pitch drainage problem.
Odsal is ideally situated just of the motorway ideal for handling traffic and with state of the art facilities and not as many seats to fill a more realistic price could be charged.
While of course there would be resistance from the diehards in time everyone will benefit

I dont get this notion about ease of traffic because it would be near the motorway?..How many City fans travel to home games via the motorway., not many I would say

An extra couple of miles on the trip and everyone loses their shit! Most drive anyway so I really don't see the issue. It's a good job you aren't a Coventry or Brighton supporter!

500k plus fixing pitch issues & and thing else.

    I agree with you Park.

I've talked about how unambitious the club is and on of the reasons I think that is that they never seem to explode progression even if it means not going through with it.

Gibbs has the club bent over unless Rupp buys the ground. Maybe, Gibbs would buy us. Making easy money off the club.

As a club we would be better owning our own ground.

I do......but I would rather stay at VP, and feel that if we had to move, then a central location which is close to both railway stations is essential. I wonder if the council has talked to anyone about this, i.e. the consumers.

Well we wouldn't be paying 500k rent plus repairs.

Issue is though the Bulls offer nothing!

How many City fans travel to games on the train? 100 at most? Why is it "essential"?

Can't believe fans saying they wouldn't renew their season tickets if the club did move from Valley Parade to Odsal top.
Not that I believe anything our council propose would happen BUT thinking about generating revenue to build it opening Odsal Stadium for land fill would generate millions.
James Mason has only been in the job at Welcome to Yorkshire for a couple of days and theres talk of a new state of the art shared stadium.

More chance of Toronto Wolfpack RFL moving to Odsal than City
