These long term visions can take years, especially when looking at the finance situation. Take Luton Town for example, in dire need of a new ground and have done for years, the plans have been in place for a fair few years now but they still haven't nailed down how to pay for it, from what i remember they need the finance from another development to push the stadium plans forward. The next lease is huge in the future of the club, get tied down for another 25 years and i won't ever see a new stadium built in Bradford, the bulls will more than likely be extinct and the area of Manningham and Bradford won't have changed one bit. Part of me still yearns for a new stadium in Bradford despite the reservations as i'm not sure long term where sport goes in Bradford without one. My head says it will never happen mind.

VP pitch and the Stadium after another 25 years. You will be wishing we built a new stadium. It will be awful.

Because there is no one else, for an astute businessman he was well and truly conned by his co-investor , he will not invest the sort of money your wanting him to invest, so we have to run with Mr Rupp, unless he sells the club.

    Of course they're other people.

What's happened to Bolton will highlight that.

Before Lawn and Rhodes bet you said the same thing.

Just don't see what he offers!

I guess most fans would prefer a new stadium with modern creature comforts. But I only see that happening under one of 3 circumstances

Firstly, the club finds a sugar daddy (or sugar mummy) who will act as a benefactor to our club and invest whatever is needed to develop the club for the 21st century. I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Secondly, the local council has a major change in its philosophy and decides that the area needs a modern, community owned sports complex for its own PR and promotional purposes. As an aside, Bradford really is a sporting wilderness and the largest urban area in England by a significant degree not to have a football team in the Championship or higher. Unfortunately I don't imagine there is much chance of the council getting involved in the current climate.

Which leaves the third option. @Fordy117@Fordy117 could apply his considerable business acumen and financial muscle to help the club develop its own plan rather than continually criticising the current owner who has no allegiance to the area for not doing what he won't do either! I attach zero likelihood of this happening since he's previously said he has no interest whilst continuing to criticise Rupp!

I bet you'd get very long odds on any of the above happening in the next 10 years or so

The "protests" are over a number of groups and a number of issues.
We seem to have grown a Liverpoolesque sense of entitlement recently

Very funny. Julian Rhodes is no Karen Brady on many levels. Just rub it in! :(

I suspect a new lease on present terms would amount to paying around £12 to £15 million in rent over a 25 year period, The present lease as I was led to believe increases around 3% year on year as part of the 5 year rent reviews as at present, This is likely to continue under a new lease and of course all repairs and improvements etc are the responsibility of the club not the owner

Just don't see the point in him.

More excuses made about him than Edin and he is the one with the money but doing no better than Rhodes and Lawn did.

    Excuses, excuses.

Suppose I just want to see development of some sort under our owner. The excuses made for him don the wash for me. If he's not interested in the club then join Edin somewhere.

I think he would quite happily disappear from Bradford but there is nobody who will give him the pounds he wants. So it's a matter of stalemate.

Which is sad really because he has the money.

Just hope he manages to sell it to someone or a company that wants to take the club forward.

I've no faith in Mr Rupp and for me he's just as bad a Edin. Edin had ideas but just didn't know how to go about things and no money as such.

Maybe, if someone show Mr Rupp how Osdal was used for Speedway and motorsport then that might float his boat in wanting a new stadium. Combine football with his hobby.

When I go VIP at Silverstone F1 in July I might bump into him and suggest it.

When you go vip at Silverstone is because you might be washing the cars after qualifying rounds but you won't be allowed near the money men who will be in attendance.
